I can't hold off too long. ~2-3pm is my caffeine cut off.

I'm only at 1 cup. If I don't have it I'm too tired to do work yet if I have it I get distracted so easily that I still don't do work
Still falling asleep while doing RC passages. I learned today that most of the humanities passages go over my head and I have to reread the first couple of sentences like 3 times to get the correct understanding

I don't drink coffee. I go straight to the hard stuff: caffeine pills.
Took PT 41 today. Going to slow boil the BR and do some today and some tomorrow. Then build + drill question types tomorrow as well.

I've always been tempted to try caffeine pills, but never got around to it. Do you get any problems with bad crashes and dehydration (I suppose this could be fixed by drinking lots of water with the pill, but then again that would pretty much be the same as just drinking coffee)?TheWalkingDebt wrote:I don't drink coffee. Nope. It's basically the same as coffee, minus the long-term downside of bad breath and yellowing teeth.ChoboPie wrote: I've always been tempted to try caffeine pills, but never got around to it. Avoid caffeine powder though. People die from taking too much. I guess the same could be said for pills.

I usually take a pill in the AM and one after lunch just to avoid that post-lunch downslide of energy.

Mmmmm that sounds reasonable. I don't think I'll ever be able to adequately fix my afternoon sluggishness though, even with the aid of caffeineTheWalkingDebt wrote:I usually take a pill in the AM and one after lunch just to avoid that post-lunch downslide of energy.

I drink coffee like a fiend. I'm trying to cut back.
Anyways, I did all the level 2 NA questions and went 70/73 and did all the level 1 Main Point questions and went 35/35. I'm probably going to do some In/Out games until the Tigers game at 1 pm, and then do 6 or 7 RC passages after the game.

Re: The Official June 2015 Study Group
I worked on more LR MBT packet stuff last night and did an LG section. I am currently doing LR packets on my lunch break.
I have another question on these packets for you all. In Frozinite's guide: http://top-law-schools.com/forums/viewt ... 6&t=225041 he says he made groups of about 20- 25 LR problems that each had a mix of questions with different levels of difficulty (10 from level 1, 5 from level 2, 5 from level 3, etc...) Have any of you tried doing this/ had any success with this strategy?

Oh yeah, I remember Frozinite. There's some good advice in that guide, but the build-your-own section idea for drilling doesn't make much sense to me, honestly. I guess the point was to find some sensible way to time your drills, but you'll never be able to assemble a "section" of drills that's meant to take the exact same amount of time as a real LSAC-tested section. Also, the difficulty ratings are a bit arbitrary, and they don't necessarily correspond with time allotments, which can vary across question types. (For example, if you're doing an entire section's worth of parallel questions, they would probably all have to be level 1s to fit reasonably within 35 mins--just due to the sheer volume of reading and number of steps required to solve them.) So I wouldn't recommend it personally, but I suppose it couldn't hurt to try it out.jumbocolumbo wrote:I worked on more LR MBT packet stuff last night and did an LG section. I am planning on doing a section approach with LR question types I get wrong on PTs, but mixing and matching question types instead of doing all one question type.

Why not just do real sections when you want to do sections, and drill your weaknesses the normal way?TheWalkingDebt wrote:I am planning on doing a section approach with LR question types I get wrong on PTs, but mixing and matching question types instead of doing all one question type.
Now that I'm thinking about it, doing fake sections and timing them at 35:00 might mess up your internal pacing for real sections, which is bad.

$35? It's rather expensive for a watch you won't have any use for after the LSAT. I've been using a normal watch to time myself, and I just reset the hands to 12 at the end of every section. It takes like three seconds. If you have money to burn, however, then go buy the specialized watch. The reviews seem good enough. You may want to check out other brands though. I remember seeing one that had start and reset buttons at the side. That one would be a lot more convenient.179orBust wrote:Anyone hear ever try this watch?

P.S. I think this is the one I was talking about. It's $60 though. No wonder I didn't buy it. http://180watch.com/

Thanks, I think I'll go with the 180 watch. Seems great. Cost is a bit high but I think I'll be able to resell it for $30-$40 so it shouldn't be too bad. Yeah, I've got the 180watch. I felt a bit stupid buying it, because it's pretty cheaply made and just seems wholly unnecessary, but I have this thing with watches... never liked them, so the simpler the better, and 180watch is super simple/clear for me.
Have the same logic, re: reselling it thereafter.
And, fwiw, I quite like it.
