Just finished drilling MSS - 18/20. If today is perfect, I'll get to drill 80 more LR, review some troublesome LG, do some German homework + other school work. Not going to happen though. Hoorah for unrealistic expectations.

mist4bison wrote:Background:
Graduated 2013 with a job (TFA). Worked from June 13-April 14, then quit.
I had another job (big law firm) within two weeks, but it didn't actually start until June 14, so I have a two month gap in employment.
Began law firm job in June 14, still here, love it.
However, I am hoping to move home (across the country) once my lease is up in June. I would only do so if I could find a law-related job, be it small, mid, big, or government. Assuming I find such a job, how would switching so frequently affect my chances of admissions come time to apply? I'm applying next cycle, to be clear.
Will switching have the appearance of someone who isn't reliable/can't stay put? I figured I could spin it positively in that I wanted different kinds of experiences before beginning law school, but will schools even care that I switched?
JK i don't think it would matter too much, just throw in an addendum that quickly touches on the reasoning

Re: The Official December 2014 Study Group
I saw your TFA story, so that is definitely worth explaining in an addendum. For the most part, I don't see you "switching" as being unreliable, because you are sticking on a law-oriented trajectory, so that shows where your interests are. It would look weird if you were constantly switching jobs every two months that were in completely different industries. You're fine.mist4bison wrote:I posted this in Law school Admissions, but figured I'd post it here to get some additional opinions. Yes, February, PNJ! I'll be taking just after my birthday and before Valentine's Day, so I should be at the height of depression. Good for the brain.

Re: The Official December 2014 Study Group
The fact that you're going home and want (presumably) to go to school there will probably play in your favor...I think playing up the experiences MO sounds good too...you're pre-law at this point, checking out your options and esp in a down economy imo looks like wisdom...and depending on how old you are (I'm assuming you're early-mid twenties) you're not really expected to have everything figured out, but I agree w the others that staying in the same law trajectory makes you appear to be driven and goal oriented.mist4bison wrote:You mean the one I posted a while ago about being stabbed? lol Yeah, I'm considering putting that into an addendum. Idk if it'll come off as too "poor me. It was hard," though.Shakawkaw wrote:I saw your TFA story, so that is definitely worth explaining in an addendum. Thanks everyone. I didn't think it would matter too much, but I'm glad everyone agrees. Now I can plan to focus on job searching after the LSAt is over

Sounds legit, nlee!
This has been my LSAT day so far (just so I can feel underaccomplished):
20 MSS
13 Cannot be True
12 Complete the Passage
8 Main Conclusion
47 more to go!

nlee: PT62 is my favorite PT of all time. It's quite tricky in a lot of subtle and interesting ways. I don't want to give anything away, but I've grown to really respect that test. I think you'll enjoy going through and reviewing that one. There's a lot to learn from.
