I'm surprised how vibrant this group is what magazines/books do you guys read in preparation for RC besides the Economist?

I don't read anything specifically for LSAT prep but I think everyday reading is helpful. Many students don't read anything longer or more complex than a tweet or buzzfeed listicle, so just reading the newspaper or random novels puts you ahead of a lot of test takers.

I'm taking a "theory of knowledge" philosophy course right now...

The ethics class I took basically said humans are awful, humans in 1st world countries are the worst, and humans that are in the petroleum biz are the the spawn of satan because its killing the planet. I had a job lined up to work for a petroleum company after that term so the class was basically me listening to how I'm the absolute worst kind of person. I don't miss the class. (I did get an A+ though)

I took ethics a few semesters ago, only survived it because the professor gave us the test a few days before so i could memorize the answers... I'm struggling in Theory of Knowledge though.

Epistemology is dope af. What is causing you trouble? What texts are you covering? (Can you tell I miss college? )

Also, Jackel - that does not sound like an Ethics course offered in any philosophy department haha. Ethics was my first philosophy course, and I declared a major because of it. Dat 8 a.m. grind was worth it.

It was an environmental ethics class. I imagine I would enjoy any ethics class in the philosophy department more. Or any course in the philosophy department for that matter.

I know Shak! It's hard but it's shaping up to be one of my favorite classes.. We covered Descartes, Berkeley, and Locke. Now we're on Hume. Hume is my favorite so far. I'm just struggling because I didn't study enough for the Descartes exam so I got a B, and on the Locke/Berkeley I made the most frustrating stupid mistakes so I got another B, and basically the way the class is graded I have to get As on the rest of the exams to get an A in the class. I'm even choosing to write a term paper to add into my exam averages. It wouldn't be that bad at this point in the semester if I wouldn't have screwed myself over on the first two exams

And I took an ethics class that was about what is right and wrong blah blah but then when I took he upper level ethics class it was way different and way more advanced. Like it was actually philosophy

Hume, Kant, and a couple analytic guys are the only ones who matter.

You can't just box epistemology in the continental umbrella. You should read some of the ancients. I Kant understand why you're so fixated on Kant.

No, but I've had to read that twice for different ethics classes. Also read CPR, the Prolegomena, and random passages from some of his other writings.
