2 PT's a week sounds good. Laid out a tentative PT schedule.

The non-disclosed part is a big detractor for me. And since the registration deadline is Dec. 31st it is probably best for me to wait till June.ngogirl12 wrote:I'm not an LSAT guru or anything, but I think postponing to June would be a good option for you. I think you definitely can hit your desired score range by February if you are systematic about it, the only issue for me with February is it is a non disclosed test so you cannot have access to the test or your answer choices. I also have heard that when people start seeing dips in their scores it is because they are burned out and need to relax a bit, maybe if you try that your AC will come up. If you are comfortable with not having access to the test and your answer choices, I would say go for February. I have heard also that be prepared to score a few points below the score you average on, and to take your last 5 PT's to be the most valid indicator on your potential score.RamTitan wrote:Hey, I'm currently deciding between taking the Feb. or the June test; I made a topic, but haven't gotten many answers, so I thought I'd post here.
I've been studying about 8-10 hours a week since late May. I was unemployed in the summer, so I spent that time learning the concepts of the LSAT with the occasional practice test. Then, once I started working full-time, I did a section of LR, RC, or AR at lunch and then a practice test every other weekend. I worked my way from 146 to 170, and was feeling confident. However, starting last week I began intense prep by taking 3 practice tests a week and reviewing the tests. My most recent scores have been 171, 171, 166, 167, and 170. I don't feel burnt out (in fact, my stamina has been great), but I'm wondering if this cramming is detrimental? For example, I used to miss zero questions on AR, but now I miss 1-3, have been stuck in the 2-5 range for LR for quite sometime, and went from missing 2-4 on RC to missing 6-7. Should I postpone the test to June, and instead take a practice test every single weekend, especially since I won't enroll in law school till fall of 2017 anyways?
P.S. I want to score 175-180, but I'm worried that I've reached my natural ability on the test
I'd love some input!

I've been getting split answers; some people think I should do Feb. and June., others advocate for June or the opposite. I think I may be burnt out, and with the registration deadline for Feb. coming up soon it may be best for me to wait till June.chicharon wrote:
Re: your Q on blind review in the other thread, why not try it for a month and see where you're at? If you feel a significant improvement and are more comfortable with the test then sure, do Feb. But, since you're not looking to attend until fall 2017, it would help you rather than hurt you to take a little extra time to prepare.

It sounds like your moving to a decision! Good luck with whatever you decide. The nice thing about June too is that you have more time to work on any holes you may have in any of the sections. If your scoring in the low 170s now, then there must be some. The goal for you (I think) would be to be scoring consistently in the high 170s, that way if you score a few points below your average range due to nerves etc. you still reach your desired goal.RamTitan wrote:The non-disclosed part is a big detractor for me. Re: The Official June 2016 Study Group
Soo yesterday/last night I had a panic attack with MSS questions. I legit almost started crying lol. So, what I did was take a break, calm down a bit and distract myself from the LSAT and voila I did an incredibly difficult MSS question (that I have ALWAYS in the past gotten wrong) and I got it right!!
I was so happy! Anyhow, I have decided my gift to myself is subscribing to Scientific American because one of the two questions I got wrong in my set was the oxy 18 in a rain cloud question, and I realized even if it is understanding logic and all perhaps just PERHAPS I am not understanding the scientific nature of the concept. SO, if I am consistently reading Scientific American, then I will understand mini science passages better. The weird part of it all though is I usually do well on science RC bc they are so formulaic i.e. introduce a theory, competing theory, authors critique of one, implication, and then key conclusion (kind of in a way similar to writing a polisci paper lol) and it is easy to identify the parts and hence answer the questions. Alas, I digress..
Also, I am looking out for any Economic magazines. Before I started grad school I took Microeconomics and Macroeconomics introductory courses, but I feel I am not grasping some laws of economics that I think you need to know going into a question. So, does anyone know of any good Economics books or magazines I can subscribe to/purchase? I was also thinking about looking at the Khan academy for Econ courses, but it seems like it will take away soo much time from LSAT prep whereas reading a book or magazine will impart knowledge to me, won't take as much time, and allow me to focus on LSAT prep.

Just dropped 90 bucks postponing to June. Hopefully it'll all be worth it.

Thats a shame really. Given his origins and track record, what do you think of his political career? You think he will last?chicharon wrote: And most of Manny's fights are in the US these days

Lol, I fished there this summer for the first time ever; it was quite relaxing. I exaggerated a bit, but if the book is $30 now, I think it will it will cost next to nothing in a year or two; which is probably just the production costs. The e-version will probably be available in single digits.ngogirl12 wrote: Will do! Thanks for the tipOne of my friends is of Norwegian origin and he's always joking about how he wants to retire on a farm in Norway and just fish lol.
I absolutely love museums especially historical ones!
Yeah your right, a lot of this information transitions with time.. You really think the book will be available online for free?

Lol, that was an interesting book. jk. The people you spoke to all fall under the ID side, I think you should also talk to the people on the corporate side to get their perspectives. International development/HR field is definitely more rewarding, and it takes a looong time to establish oneself in this field, but you also need to pay bills; without enough money, we simple are not free as humans (as in freedom). You've experienced both the rich guy's and intellectual guy's angle, so you'll know where your middle ground is; maybe work as an ID/HR development for corporations? You'll figured it out eventually.ngogirl12 wrote:I have no idea. For awhile, I thought working in biglaw would be great make my money and then move on to the next step, but I have spoken with a lot of ID people, UN lawyers, and refugee/hr lawyers they all say the same thing.. don't sell your soul to the devil LMAO.. anyhow, I have worked in this field for awhile and the pay is not that great but the work is very rewarding; if I get into a great law school I could always get a baller job in the field that can hopefully help pay off the debt, but if not I guess I'll just have to suffer the consequences.. I'm too passionate about international human right's work and international development (although it's a catch 22 I always joke is imperialism in a modern lens) to see myself sitting in a corporate office (even though life would be 10 times easier).ColonizeMars wrote:Lol, you think this principality will hold true after graduating Law School with debt hanging on your shoulder?ngogirl12 wrote: For me law school was a way for me to save the world..
Kind of like I thought I'm so tired of the drama in dating intellectual guys, let me try a rich guy who can pay for me and take care of me (I know, I know traditional thinking). And I ended up dating a rich guy who was so boring and full of fluff that I just couldn't do it. I said, sorry this is just not for me, lol.
Anyhow, there I go writing a book again.. what about you? what kind of law do you envision yourself going into?
I haven't decided which part of law I want to focus on yet. Initially, my interest in Law School was ID/humanitarian related (like a batman syndrome), but I also like business/corporate law, it makes more sense to me. On the other side, I am also thinking about intellectual property law, so that I don't go too far away from Space Law when time comes
