Re: The Official February 2015 Study Group
quick question, do you own the 6 section PTs by cambridge, or are you putting it together yourself?zacboro wrote:So... this might be a long message and if you don't wanna read it my bad for taking up so much space. But so I took 6 sections today in a row and here are my results:
LG: -0
RC: -9
LR: -6
LG: -0
LR: -4
LR: -5
The middle four sections were all part of a real PT and all of those scores equate to a 162 scaled. I'm basically in shock. While I haven't done a 6 section test before, I've taken plenty of 4 section ones and the last section here doesn't count towards the scaled score anyways. And I have not gone this low in 3 weeks, not even close to this low. Last week I scored a 168, then earlier this week I scored a 171 & then a 169. For LG me going 0 is typical, all week I've been going -0 and even last week I was nearing perfection. RC hurts, badly. Last week my average was -5 for RC. This week I took a few days to review the Trainer again about RC and then went -9 right after in a stand alone section, and went -9 again today during the PT. It's frustrating, I even set my goal for RC for this week at -5 again so I could work on just understanding RC more rather than trying to obsessively improve where I knew I wouldn't. My LR score is what hurts the most though. Last week I went -2.4 average and I was really excited because even though my RC score still sucked it was okay because my LG and LR sections could help balance that out. But now, my LR score had a -3.7 average for the week, getting worse and worse as the week dragged on. My BR scores for LR for today weren't much better. At this point I'm kind of just venting and I realized that all these facts aren't even leading to any kind of question or relevancy but I just had to go on record and say I'm frustrated & pissed off. It's not burnout either because I'm not overloading on any day and I'm taking days off. I just don't get how I can make such progress and then lose it all. Sorry for taking up so much space, there's a good chance by the end of this week I won't even be in this group anymore. I have decided that maybe I'm doing poorly because of the stress and pressure of all this so to destress I'm drinking. I know it's close to game day but Idc, I haven't drank in the past 70 to prepare for this bitch and it's clearly not working.

Do you guys ever feel like you're getting drowned in LR questions sometimes? lol I swear I feel like the more Im studying the worse Im getting. Not my scores necessarily but my skills with some of the questions. Like some of the questions that I could do in my sleep seems difficult I just don't get it.
maybe burnt out? don't have time to take a break too close to the finish line. Just wish I knew how to snap out of this funk and get my A game back, ugh!

Are you PTing or drilling right now? Switching from PTing every day to PTing every couple of days and drilling on my weaknesses the rest of the time did me a world of good my first take, like to the point where I think if I had switched earlier I wouldn't need to retake. Maybe if you're doing one, switch to the other to try to get your brain back on.Donashimen wrote:Do you guys ever feel like you're getting drowned in LR questions sometimes? lol I swear I feel like the more Im studying the worse Im getting. Well honestly I don't want to pay to buy those drill packets so Ive found this spreadsheet that separates the questions from the PTs by type and I've been taking LR sections, then doing a blind review of them and then drilling on the question type that I had a hard time with. I was going to work on LR this week and some RC next week and then just do full PTs the rest of the time. Ive also been looking for the explanation for the December 2014 LSAT (PT 74) but i can't find it anywhere.

IMO, taking 6 sections in a row also isn't an accurate test day condition. No matter what you're going to take 3 sections in a row, 15 min break, and then the final 2 sections.zacboro wrote:So... this might be a long message and if you don't wanna read it my bad for taking up so much space. Re: The Official February 2015 Study Group
so decided to grade b4 BR (didn't look at anything like breakdown or w.e just score) 168/165 I would like to think the group of kids that came to the section I was at and was almost as annoying as the earlier kids if not more so was the cause for a decrease... gotta go through and look at what happened... I know the first LG took me too long and kinda tripped me up so I'm expecting like -2/3 there :/ Nlee! GIVE ME YER SMARTZ

Does anyone know where one can possibly access the LG sections from around PT 50 to present? I know cambridge has like the first 40, but I'd rather drill with what we're more likely gonna see.

Until I hit 170 on a more modern PT like 60+, I'm not totally convinced of my improvement.

they were both technically retakes so was hoping for 170s... granted I didn't remember the questions since it was so long ago I don't really count it too highlynlee10 wrote:haha good job on that 168 man!Jgoods wrote:so decided to grade b4 BR (didn't look at anything like breakdown or w.e just score) 168/165 I would like to think the group of kids that came to the section I was at and was almost as annoying as the earlier kids if not more so was the cause for a decrease... gotta go through and look at what happened... You've been doing great, so I'm sure it will be.nlee10 wrote: I'm hoping Feb's test will be super easy.
I, on the other hand, am now very happy I have until June. I did Preptest C and didn't finish the LG section. Usually I finish with 5-10 min extra and go -0, so I was a little rattled after that and didn't feel as confident. I'll start the BR now.
eta: the Trainer came in the mail today, so hopefully that'll help when I drill

I'm not trying to guess a curve this time, I'm just shooting for missing x amount or less. I'll say...16. On gameday I wanna miss 16 probs or less. Whatever the curve is, fine. I can't control that

There is something stupid satisfying about going to a 7Sage video to check that I diagrammed a game I felt pretty good about/went -0 on efficiently and hearing him go "oh this is a really tough game."

I think we are both getting really anxious as the test is approaching. Just drink tonight and relax. Reassess tomorrow - try to the factors led to your score today. Did you sleep well? Did you sleep enough? Perhaps your RC score is dipping because you're trying to implement a new approach - this tends to happen. What type of LR questions did you find the most trouble with? etc etc.zacboro wrote:So... this might be a long message and if you don't wanna read it my bad for taking up so much space. Either way, I don't think one low score, out of a group of high scores, is indicative of your ability.
