Re: The Official September 2016 Study Group - WAKE ME UP WHEN SEPTEMBER ENDS
Soo...I've been studying for the LSAT for about 4 months. I've been scoring in the high 150s for my last five practice tests but this past weekend I scored a 169 on PT December 71 and then went back down to 157, when I took an older exam (PT October 70) I took the 169 test the day before, at 10am in the library (no studying beforehand, and the last PT I took before that was 5 days prior). I took the test I scored a 157 on at home around 9pm (after studying for 4 hours in the afternoon).
Do you think I can realistically score in the 160s on future PTs and on the real test or is high 150s more likely since I've been doing so consistently?
Also, what do you think caused me to score 169 on PT 71?

Guys, I have an extra 180 watch that I'd be willing to sell for $40, it's basically new. Will ship today for free. Also have the Manhattan LR and RC books with no writing at all, 4th edition. If anyone has any interest in buying any of these please PM. Hope I'm allowed to post this.

Guys just wanna let you know to double check your academic summary report. LSAC made a mistake with mine and I've had several friends who found mistakes as well. Took 2 weeks to resolve and you want to make sure everything is good by the time you apply.

Does everything seem to be coming together for you guys? I think the one thing I'm getting stuck on is the Logic Game notation and figuring it out in a quick manner.

Calculated my GPA with 7Sage's LDAS GPA Calculator and it is one point higher than on my summary. I'm having some trouble figuring out where the difference is coming from due to the summary's calculation of + and -'s. Did you just email LSAC to notify them of a discrepancy?

Slowly but surely yeah, I've been charting out my scores overall and in each section and it's steadily on the incline. Thought I hit a slump last week, but finally broke through it.GurleyGurleyGone wrote:Does everything seem to be coming together for you guys? For mapping out the AR portion, first off, figure out what you're sorting and what you are sorting them. Write out any additional variables (e.g. the people you are sorting will speak different languages or the cars you are sorting will have different features). And then annotate the rules and compare them to each other to draw out any inferences. I find I work through the problem much more quickly if I figure out a few inferences at the beginning as opposed to figuring them out as I work through the problems.

Were you on a semester or quarter system? I found that when using the 7sage calculator you have to do the calculations from quarter to semester yourself and input them which causes the numbers to be slightly off because of the rounding to whole numbersLSRAT wrote:StopLawying wrote:Guys just wanna let you know to double check your academic summary report. Am I shooting myself in the foot if I don't do all of the more recent PTs (50+)? At the rate I'm doing them now I'm definitely going to have some left by the time we hit test day, and I'm not sure if 3/week is realistic with my schedule.

hmmmm that sounds weird. Regardless of how it is converted I don't think any conversion would/could change a grade outright from a B- to a C if I'm understanding you correctly. I would call LSACLSRAT wrote:Quarter for the credits that seem improperly calculated. For example I received a B and B- (stupid high school credits) and LSAC counted that as 1 credit under C and 3 credits under B. Would that be the correct conversion?StopLawying wrote: Were you on a semester or quarter system? No. But definitely try to include PTs that have the comparative reading in them going forward (52+ I think)Alexandros wrote:Am I shooting myself in the foot if I don't do all of the more recent PTs (50+)? Keep hitting -1 per section. It's good, but also frustrating, because there's no 1 area to focus on.

Yeah , I'm definitely only doing more recent PTs, so with comparative reading.tofuspeedstar wrote:No. But definitely try to include PTs that have the comparative reading in them going forward (52+ I think)Alexandros wrote:Am I shooting myself in the foot if I don't do all of the more recent PTs (50+)? I'm gonna try to prioritize more recent PTs and ones with weird/hard games. might cut into the ones it doesn't look like I'll get to for drilling. I guess we'll see what happens.

no but I would recommend skipping the 50's and proceed straight into PT 60 and up. I think mid, maybe even late 60's and beyond have a slightly different feel than the tests before them.

I would at least do the 70s and try to do the 60s if you can and use the 50s series for experimentals. That's my plan anyways, if I ever get to the PT phase lol.Alexandros wrote:Am I shooting myself in the foot if I don't do all of the more recent PTs (50+)? Definitely though make sure you get the 70s in.
