I agree with the whole Seaworld sucks, keep the whales/dolphins free.
I'm attempting to study but all I want to do is nap. This happened yesterday too, and I napped

There's also one in San Antonio, TX.TheWalkingDebt wrote:That was my qualifier too. There are some really good places to eat, particularly away from the chain-haven that is I-Drive near downtown Orlando.McJimJam wrote:Took my cousins and sibling to Seaworld today. I'm pretty sure they enjoyed it far more than me, but it was nice to have a day not spent worrying about school or the LSAT. I think when summer starts I'll give myself a full week before I full on hit the books for the test. Tomorrow, however, will be solely dedicated to LR drilling.

UT Austin is actually on my school list because the cost of living in Texas is supposed to be great. Even with a lower salary you're effectively richer than a Manhattan or San Fran biglawyer who pays 3k per month for housing. I've also lived in the NE all my life and it would be nice to try something different.Rigo wrote:But like....who gives a f?Dr. Nefario wrote: There's also one in San Antonio, TX.

But maybe I'm just trying to convince myself Texas is awesome because thats my most likely fallback option if I fail the LSAT and have to get a job

It wouldn't be by choice. Thats where I would most likely get hired based off of previous jobs and contacts. I would prefer to stay in the northeast but I can be persuaded by money and job security.biggestlawman wrote:Don't do it! Engineering jobs suck all around! Take it from me!

I have nothing against the location. The advice, although gratuitous, is about the engineering profession in general, and is based on hard yards done for companies, monstrous and puppy like, in positions varying from entry level to project manager.JackelJ wrote:It wouldn't be by choice. I agree, but if Texas was the case then my plan would be to work for 2 years or so as an engineer, go to law school, and then not work as an engineerbiggestlawman wrote:I have nothing against the location. Or I can just 180 the June LSAT, head to Yale and not worry about that

Where are you originally from in NE and do you have any sort of ties to Texas? The Texas legal market is can be hard to crack for non-residents. Texas pride is real.RZ5646 wrote:UT Austin is actually on my school list because the cost of living in Texas is supposed to be great. I have no ties to Texas so yeah it's a bit of a longshot and contingent upon getting a full ride to UT Austin. My target outcome right now is a full ride to MVPDC anyway.Dr. Nefario wrote:Where are you originally from? The Texas legal market can be hard to crack for non-residents. Why set your "target outcome" so low?RZ5646 wrote:I have no ties to Texas so yeah it's a bit of a longshot and contingent upon getting a full ride to UT Austin. My target outcome right now is a full ride to MVPDC anyway.

I wouldn't really call that low, but I'm poor and have UG debt so I don't want to pay for LS unless it's something like half tuition at Columbia. I still want HYS for bragging rights and negotiation purposes, but attending at sticker would probably be the worst decision of my life (and a mistake I feel like I'm liable to make if given the opportunity). Finally, I don't think I have the softs for the Hamilton or Ruby (which might not even exist anymore, idk how that turned out).Dr. Nefario wrote:Why set your "target outcome" so low?RZ5646 wrote:I have no ties to Texas so yeah it's a bit of a longshot and contingent upon getting a full ride to UT Austin. Full need aid at HYS is around the same debt load as a Butler. If you're really broke you probably won't end up paying sticker.RZ5646 wrote:I wouldn't really call that low, but I'm poor and have UG debt so I don't want to pay for LS unless it's something like half tuition at Columbia. I'm broke but my parents aren't, so if LS financial aid is like UG financial aid I'm screwed.

Definitely. I'm strongly considering taking a year off / deferring so I can teach English overseas after college. Seems like a fun and inexpensive way to travel, besides being a good resume line.tapenade wrote:Teaching English/studying for the LSAT abroad. Good idea? Y/N
