Re: The Official June 2016 Study Group
Hey everyone! so I have gotten 61-4-19 wrong an (astonishing) total of four times over the course of my prep. Anyone able to take a second to look at this an explain it? It simply doesn't click...magooshtravis wrote:Hi Folks,
First of all, sorry to those of you who saw this same post in the Feb Study Group thread. Not trying to spam everyone, but do want to introduce myself to as many of you as possible as a resource. So without further ado...
My name is Travis and I've been tutoring the LSAT for about 10 years. This is NOT a sales pitch. I'm just introducing myself and letting you all know that I check this forum almost every weekday and would be happy to answer anyone's questions about specific problems, pacing, test day concerns, etc...
I got my JD from NYU in 2009 and have been living in Northern California for the past 6 years. Currently, I work for a company called Magoosh, writing an online prep course for the LSAT.
Again, if you have any questions about the exam, law school, debt, jobs, etc... feel free to message me. I also have a blog you can check out at https://magoosh.com/lsat. It's in its infancy, so there's not a ton to look at right now, but I'll be updating it regularly with helpful info. If you have any burning questions that you'd like to see addressed in the blog, give me a heads up.
Best of luck to all of you taking the Feb exam. I look forward to getting to know some of you better![]()
Take care,
Travis

First day of winter. Going to be warm all week in Northeast, so it doesn't really feel like Xmas. I'll take it though. Snow is overrated.

I've been eating a little too much solid food since Thanksgiving. Gotta get into a fitness routine.

Just gotta get a good routine going in all aspects of my life. Gonna go back to being a morning person. I've been sleeping in late since being home.

I move out in 2 weeks. I actually think I'll get more studying done the busier I am with other commitments. I need structure.

Oh yeah! I saw the Northern Lights, the first time I saw, I had no idea what it was lol. The whole Scandinavian region is beautiful, and would love to retire there sometime. Oslo is pretty too, a very efficient city imo. If you go there again, try their version of meatballs; it is delicious! And, Check out their cold war museum by the bay, some neat historical artifacts there.ngogirl12 wrote: I went to Norway for a weekend, have a friend in Oslo but I didn't get to see much outside of that. I have heard the countryside is gorgeous. Did you get to see the Northern Lights while you were there? My friend and I went to Iceland December 2014 (my fave Scandinavian country, so quaint, delicate, and cute!) and when we were coming out of the airport the Northern Lights hit us, we thought it was a normal occurrence but it was cool!
Oh yeah, red-teaming makes more sense Lol. Thanks for the info. I don't see a point in buying these books in cybersecutiry actually, the industry evolves on a geometric scale, and the materials get outdated very soon. It'll probably be available for free online sometime soon anyways.ngogirl12 wrote: I do! His name is Micah Zenko, and I just looked in my notebook the concept is actually called "red teaming" it's really interesting! I bet if you google him, his book title will come up. It's actually not that expensive $30, I didn't buy a copy bc I'm more interested in analyzing behavior and potential solutions and I'm poor haha.

Yeah, the area is infested with terrorists. I'll most likely just visit as a tourist, and catch one of Manny Pacquiao's fight; he is my icon!chicharon wrote:Ahhh Mindanao is dangerous, depending on where you goColonizeMars wrote: There is plenty of time to get your discipline set up. ~Six months is a long way lol
Philippines! I almost did a stint in the Mindanao region over the summer; didn't get the funds approved :/ Will probably visit the country after the exam though!I'm from the north--Luzon--where the national capital is. What do you plan to do there?

With LSAC closed for the holidays, will I still be able to upload my personal statement myself to various school applications?

I'd highly recommend doing something physically active like this. It helps focus better, imo.chicharon wrote:I heard training for a marathon while prepping for the LSAT actually works out pretty nicely

Making copies is such an undertaking. I will have to buy my own printer/high volume copy machine for my new apartment when I can't rely on my dad's office anymore.
