7sage app. Also use it for grading to keep track of how I'm doing.

7sage app is cool and available for Android and iOS in identical forms.

How long do you guys wait between taking a test and doing BR on it?

I use the 7Sage app on my phone. It is excellent. It can be used for 4 or 5 section practice tests, and can also be used for scoring tests and has videos for every LG from every PT.

Signing in.

Finished PS LGB, moved onto the Trainer, covering all three sections. Haven't really started drilling yet, but I'm pretty much done with learning the foundation for LG, so I guess I'm reading to drill that section.

For LR, I'm just getting started with the Trainer (I have both the LRB and MLSAT LR, but don't think I have time for these, plus the Trainer is AWESOME by itself).

Many people here have mentioned that you shouldn't even bother with drilling until you are done with learning the foundation, which brings to my question - is it a bad idea to drill after each section for that respective category only to reinforce what I learned? Or should I wait until I'm done building foundation on all sections before moving onto drill by-type using the Cambridge?

Welcome. I think its a good idea to drill a section after learning the fundamentals for it because you learn by actually doing the questions, not by just reading the prep books. And that way you reinforce what you just learned. I wouldn't suggest doing 100 must be true questions after learning the fundamentals for them, but do 20-30 questions and then move on to the next question type. And then drill more throughout your studying. Thats just what I did, but I'm sure others were successful with other methods.

I just got -1 on a reading comp section with 2:30 left on the clock!
I can read! My third grade teacher will be happy to know that!!!

It's was an older test though and I heard that they were easier in the past, can anyone confirm? I tend to do the best on the comparative reading sections anyways so I feel good knowing can get this far!

Yeah in my experience older tests have easier RC and harder LG.

Did a PT today and did reasonably well, but I must preface this with a caveat: I'm pretty sure I had seen every game before while drilling so my LG is probably higher than it should be.

PT 19 -- 176
LG: -3
LR: -1
RC: -1

ETA: To 179orbust regarding older LR sections: I've also seen what the other guy said, that the difficulty is about the same but the questions come in a different mix, sometimes favoring complicated conditional logic. You also get fun stimuli that will define "computer virus," "VCR," and other wonders of 1990s technology.

I got my second 172 today!

-1 RC
-2 LG
-6 LR

My reading comp went down 3 points, but my other sections did worse to pick up the slack I guess, sigh. That -6 on LR is unforgivable!!!! But that -1 in RC is unbelieveable!!! w00t w00t. Maybe it's because it's an older test. My LG is only ever -1 or -2 never a perfect score, and never worse than -2. At least I'm consistent right? lmao.

If I can squeeze out just one or two more points between now and test day, I'll be set for life! I may even considering not retaking in June depending on what I score in February.

LR stimuli in the earlier tests tend to have more abstract language and they also employed the format of 2 questions per stimuli, but you don't see those anymore. The more recent LR are more concise in their language but the answer choices have become trickier and require you to be able to really understand the argument to be able to get to the correct answer.

Got my black Ticonderoga pencils and a Staedtler sharpener today. Pretty 180.

Reviewed the LR and RC questions I missed yesterday and unfortunately my analysis boils down to "they were really hard." I don't see any specific thing I screwed up on, they just got the better of me.

Can confidently say that the black ticons raised my score singlehandedly

Couple of questions:

I might be retaking in June after taking in September and December. First, how do you study if you have taken EVERY lsat at least once? I started studying last May and by the December test, I have seen and taken every lsat. The recent ones 35+ I have seen at least twice.

Also, has anyone had success in petitioning the LSAC for an unofficial test center if you know during the date you will be at least 150 miles away from the nearest test center and no reasonable way to travel?

Also, need help on LR. What book is the best? Already used the Bible but still getting -7-10 total. Before the December test I was working on the Cambridge packets for question types that I needed work on.

Thanks.

Check out Manhattan. And if you're still getting -7 on LR, you probably haven't made the most of your materials. Going through them again wouldn't hurt.

Where are your scores now, and how have you been reviewing your PTs? I think reusing material is fine. I just got the Trainer a couple days ago for LR because it was recommended by many people. I haven't read enough of it yet to give a recommendation though.

Was sick first time, got a 159 but was practice testing 165. Got a 164 second time, last three practice tests were a 167, 171, 169. The 171 was on the December 2013 test. I mean they were full reviews. I blew a few questions on the December exam on reading comp that I generally never get wrong. Got -1 on games.

The problem reusing the info is I generally remember the question. Probably 50% of the time, so it then becomes less of a successful practice because I start thinking what I did last time etc etc.

I'm purchasing the Superprep tests from Cambridge today. I plan on splitting the sections up to turn 12 four section PTs into five section PTs. This way none of the PT 1-39 sections (which I'm using for drilling) will need to be used for experimental sections. Using the superprep tests will allow a more accurate recreation of the test day environment since I have not seen these sections and therefore will not be able to identify the experimental section.

Checking in-- Scored a 154 on my diagnostic (-16 on LG), had been taking my university's LSAT prep course, which was free. Have a good selection of prep tests, but I need to do some SERIOUS work on the LG's before starting back with the full length practice tests.

Realized I only read half of the LG Bible so I'm going to go back and read the rest before I do any more drilling.

I think you could still benefit from looking at the material you have already seen. When you re-do the questions really understand the structure of the argument (if there is one) and what makes the correct answer correct. If you aren't getting 180's on the PTs that you already took then you are still missing questions and concepts that you can get better at. Even if you think about what you did the last time you saw it, thats okay. If you got it wrong last time think about what lead you to the wrong answer and why that thinking is incorrect. Do the same if you got it right and it will re-enforce good habits. The thread Smallville linked is a great thread and should help.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
