Love you guys for reporting all the great drill times/scores here. I'm starting very late (Monday!) but this is the boost I need to get moving. Great work, all.

I have about 30 pages left of the 2nd ch of MLSAT, but drilled the 7 Relative Ordering from Cambridge's 1-38 bundle today.

PS2-S3-G1 (3:48) -1
PS33-S4-G1 (5:23) -0
PS4-S3-G3 (5:07) -1 (circled incorrectly, but work was OK)
PS38-S2-G1 (4:13) -0
PS5-S4-G2 (4:41) -0
PT10-S2-G1 (5:10) -1
PT1-S2-G3 (5:30) -0

I'm going to look on Cambridge's website to see if I can get more recent bundles too. I think I've heard that LG has changed in recent years, so I def. want to get my hands on those games
I'd punt a toddler to get four relative ordering games in June.
lol I'm with you on that

Alright so the last month there's been a heavy focus on LR (went from -6 per section, to -1 for 3 timed back to back..very happy with that)...almost exclusive. But the last couple days been working through the mlgb (opinion-->powerscore sucks). Did a shit load of games today. here's how it went...

Simple Ordering:
pg 9 -0 (6:35)
pg 10 -0 (7:21)
pg 11 -0 (4:53)
pg 12-16 -0 (pretty much under 8 except for pg 16 took like 9:30)

Relative
pg 4-8 -0 under 6
pg 9-10 -1 (last game got me kind of stumped...still trying to figure out why)

Complex:
pg5-7 -0 (under 9)

Determined Assignment:
pg 4-8 (pg 8 -1) under 9

Undetermined
pg 6-10 -0 (under 10)

In/Out--sort of a wtf moment when i got here...decided to call it a rest.
pg 4 -2 untimed
pg 5 -1 untimed

They have to be YPing against Yale for elterrible and Lavitz right? Some of the hold numbers, especially compared to those of admits, is just insanity.

Word to the wise - if your numbers are sick, make it VERY clear that you want Harvard. They're gunning for that #2 spot and gunning hard.

I'd maybe hold off on the more recent bundles, if they even have them. Only reason is you may want to use PTs 40-68 for full timed PTs. You don't want to evaluate how you're doing late in the game using PTs where you've seen the questions before.

Other than that, impressive work!

Does anyone have a goal of total hours studied before sitting for the exam? Or more of a goal of hitting certain scores on practice tests?

yea if my math is correct around 6-800 hours of study...and scores consistently above 175 before i even think about sitting to take the test. sounds arrogant as fuk i know, but nothing else is acceptable considering the ridiculously low job prospects from non t14 schools and i dun wanna waste my gpa on a sub 172 score.

When you do PTs are you timing yourself?
I take a PT every 2-3 days (test, review, repeat). Maybe spend a day drilling here and there, but that hasn't seemed to help much. I think it's because on the test, questions of the same type are not given one after another.

And yes, strict timer.

Daily_Double wrote:Today I drilled a variety of areas from Cambridge:

Games - Simple Ordering, level 1-4, -1, finished this section, (saving p24-26 for hybrid PTs)
p14, (5:24), 5Q
p15, (6:02), 6Q
p16, (6:07), 6Q
p17, (3:45), 5Q, (seen before in Powerscore or Manhattan)
p18, (5:11), 5Q
p19, (5:56), 5Q, (think I've seen this before too, probably Powerscore or Manhattan)
20, (5:36), 6Q
p21, 6:28), 7Q
p22, (7:19), 7Q, -1, (misread a rule, had to redo two questions, figured it out after I crossed through every answer for two problems in a row, then forgot a rule in a hypo for one problem... took a break after this one)
p23, (5:33), 5Q
p27, (6:59), 7Q

RC - PT 13, (untimed, although judging from the clock, definitely <40, probably +/- 2 minutes of 35), -2, #4, #17

PT 35, (untimed, again definitely <40, probably +/- 2 minutes of 35), -4, #11, #16, #19, #25

LR - N/A, 50Q, (53:07), levels 1-4, -3, #64, #99, #193

S/A, 26Q, (23:47), levels 1-4, mostly 4, -3, #39, #53, #54, finished with S/A

Happy with LR and LG, definitely on my way with RC, I'm going to continue doing untimed sections this week, one per day.
Impressive!

5 hours a day till the day before test day, so that will add up to 700~ hours. Shooting for a 176.

I have considered setting the limit like at 500-700 hours. You are right about the whole T-14 thing. I was going to create a post if I had lost my marbles if I wanted to prep for like 1,000 hours. I think at some point it gets time to pull the trigger and sit for the test. Hopefully that day is in the second week of June.

DD,
My RC wasn't going well. I did PT 8 after dinner, -5, -4 on first passage ( I want to kick myself ), I kinda timed myself, it was 42 minutes.
It seems that I have trouble on some passages, I am still on the track to figure it out, then I'll burst it!

Both kind of, maybe neither... I couldn't care less about the total hours, and I don't really care that much about PT scores either. For me, eliminating uncertainty is the goal, although doing some very rough math, I'll hit 600 before June 1st. What I want to do is stick to my planned schedule and hope that schedule produces my desired scores in April, May, and ultimately June.

And thanks crazyrobin, it's been a long ass day. How's RC going for you?
I always have more uncertainty in logical reasoning. The lack of liberal arts background I think has caught up with me. My technical undergrad has really helped with logic games though.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
