Re: The Official June 2015 Study Group
I think people are actually studying now so they're on TLS less. For LSAT prep at least, TLS use is mostly counterproductive. You should pick up some good advice here at the beginning and then study on your own; any TLS use beyond that is wasted time. Then come back when you need advice on personal statements, negotiating scholarships, choosing a school, etc.

Definitely a TLS faux pas.ChoboPie wrote:I left because OP sux. His refusal to PW was just too much.
There's no real solid solution on where we should migrate though.

If it makes you guys feel better I'll probably be posting here less often. I'm trying to buckle down and get work done, both LSAT stuff and school work.

What are your favorite locations for studying? My school library is useless and it's very hard to find empty classrooms in the academic building I spend most of my time in. And it's hard for me to focus at home.

Re: The Official June 2015 Study Group
100% first floor of my library. The student union was way too loud and it started to become a social session instead of an LSAT session, and the other floors of my library are too quiet and eerie (our library levels are quieter as you go downstairs). First floor is the perfect balance between quiet/not locked away feeling for me.RZ5646 wrote:What are your favorite locations for studying? My school's main library is basically a place where freshmen go to socialize and browse Facebook.

I've been doing really well on the Manhattan LG drills. Feeling a bit more optimistic! I mean, it is the easiest section... but I've got to start somewhere.

Also: 8/10 would bang OP based on pic above.
I may have implied too much credit for smoothness, but definitely intended to reference the hanging out near young girls creepily part of that scene.

This coffee shop down the street from me. I order a french press, put on some post-rock or classical with headphones and start studying.RZ5646 wrote:What are your favorite locations for studying? I only study in my room in complete silence. It baffles me how you can prep LSAT while listening to music. Seriously, I can do schoolwork no problem with music or in a loud area, but lsat requires too much concentration for meThe Abyss wrote:This coffee shop down the street from me. I was just researching that. I donated all my old stuff a few years back after many years of not using it. Little did I know I would do extensive outdoor stuff activity and need all new stuff. The Abyss wrote:I just got my REI dividend in the mail the other day. I'm gonna invest in ultralight and really do my research this time around.

Protip for going as light as possible: put a piece of colored duct tape on any piece of gear you bring with you and take the tape off when you use it. When you get home after a trip, check what still has tape on it, and that's what you don't need to take anymore. I shed a lot of unnecessary weight by doing this.Rigo wrote:I was just researching that. I donated all my old stuff a few years back after many years of not using it. ETA: Tarptent has been the best ultralight tent company I've used. They make great products, and are very reasonably priced.
