What do y'all do when you're having a bit of an off day or what makes you decide to pack it in for the day?
If I find myself rereading stuff or having to go back and rewatch JY's videos I call it a day. If I'm having an off day of course I try to power through. But if its not sticking I don't.

I was gonna BR this evening but I've been so frustrated with other stuff I just went to play basketball for 3 1/2 hours. I feel like I wasted the day cause I spent about 3 1/2 hours studying. But I wouldn't have been able to do my best if I didn't have a clear mind while reviewing. So I'll do it first thing tomorrow.

OK I am joining this fray over here - I was initially going to do December but on the cold diagnostic I took I did well enough (-2 RC, -3 LR on a 4 section test) that I said ok, wtf, I'm just going to push hard on LGs (for which I got a -15 on that same diagnostic due to not finishing/being wrong/oy vey), brush up the other two, and see what happens. I'm way out of undergrad and as such figure my LSAT is the thing that will determine where I apply, if I apply, and if it makes $ense to go...so may as well get it out of the way!

I've been working through the free stuff on 7Sage, a free book from the library on LSAT logic games (Learning Express - so far, so good), and got the LSAT Trainer since I like structure but didn't feel right paying $180 for 7Sage given where I'm starting from. Whew! Discipline is everything but I have to admit, I am into the rigor of it so far.

LET'S GO TEAM.

Welcome Speedwagon. That's a really good diagnostic, and if you can score that well on the LR then you are more than capable of learning the games. I've never heard of Learning Express though, so it might not be the best use of your limited time. I used the Trainer and thought it was decent.

PT 38 tonight. When I first scored it I thought I got it perfect, but I figured I better check my scoring again and it turns out I did miss one on LG. Still my first 180 this time around, so I'll take it. I took an extra section of games from a test that I used before, and it was pretty grueling but I had a much easier time of sitting and focusing than on my last PT. I feel fucking fantastic.

Woke up slightly later than I wanted to, but good morning y'all. PT in a few once I get myself more awake.

I think it's just important to realize that burnout is real, and to be honest with yourself when you actually need to do the literal opposite of LSAT prep (like have a beer or watch TV). I also recently started journaling about specific LSAT-related things that are stressing me out, like having too high of expectations and getting angry at myself when I fall short. That kind of attitude makes burnout worse, too, so singling it out helps.

When I took my first LSAT in February 2013, I burned myself out so badly and obsessed to my own detriment. I think the most effective change this time has been being purposely mindful not to do that, and to take actual whole days off and quit studying when I really, really don't feel like doing it.
Yeah - good point. I appreciate it. I ended up just leaving the library a bit early and spent a good amount of time there teaching myself HTML/CSS rather than the LSAT.

Good luck. I think I'm going to the library earlier today, but I'll stop by like 5:00 rather than 9:00.

So I was just doing PT 54. Finished section 1 (RC) and went onto section 2 (LR). I was 6 questions in and i was like "fuck this".

My mind wasn't in the game today, since my mind just kept racing about me heading to Atlantic City in a bit. Screw it man, I don't want to waste this PT with half-assing it, so I'll probably end up drilling the rest of the sections timed sometime next week.

eta: just inputted my first RC section answers into 7sage because F it, why not, and i went -11. JFC my head was DEFINITELY not in the game lmao whatever i dont even care today honestly.

I think I'm going to pretty much ignore any PT before 60 for PT purposes. there are enough 60+ PTs to last from now until test day. speaking of which, when is everyone taking their LAST PT? I'm thinking either the Tuesday or Wednesday the week of the test.

That Monday will probably be my last PT. BR it Tuesday and Wednesday. Then probably do some light RC drilling on Thursday, then rest up on Friday.

you made a smart choice! PTs when your head's not in the game aren't worth it.

thought it was the opposite. how do you define newer rc?
That's what I'd heard too. My last 2 were in the 60s and went -0, which is less wrong than I seem to get drilling older ones. May have been easier sections / luck / the fact that I mainly drill the hardest from Cambridge packs.
60s rc i thought was tough. RC is a section where retake can make a big difference. are these fresh?
does Cambridge hardest pack only have old rc?
yeah, fresh PTs. I'm using 1-35 Cambridge packs mostly for RC rn.
that's nice. i should probably look up the cambridge packs for rc too.

Think I need to do more 70s PTs, and drill tf out of them for test day.

My supervisor gets back on monday, then work ends (goes to part-time) Aug 26, and classes start on the 2nd (11:30 everyday, but I think one's recorded so hopefully morning PTs will still be a go.)

My office is empty and I have no motivation today at all. Gonna do a few work-related things then BR PT 64.

Studying for the LSAT while being depressed is so hard. I literally have no motivation do it and haven't taken a PT since June.

I've never seen a gas station with a shop that doesn't sell coffee, so I tend to think that they do.

PT53 today. Got a 161, which is already a 3 point improvement over what I got in June and I completely messed up a LR and the RC section and got 4-5 more questions wrong that normal on each. Making some steady progress and hopefully I'll be able to iron out these mistakes by September

hm maybe these aren't T14s tho :?: :?: :?:
Who knows. Probably depends on whether it is the 25/50/75 too. This cycle there were far more 165+s, correct? If the number of 168-170+ didn't change much, it would seem likely that the +1, +2, +3 came from the middle 50s of schools immediately outside the T14.

Then again, it could actually go up or go down are cycle. TBD.
Yeah, I would imagine that if any schools changed the least or not at all it would be the T14. Especially +3, WTF!!!! If they went up, I couldn't imagine it being more than 1 point. It probably is middle 50s like 34iplaw said.

FWIW, Spivey also projected 165+ takers to be stable this year. And it's looking like overall takers will be stable as well. That all fits with improvements to lower ranked schools and a stable t14. Hope that's true.

Oh god. I've been drinking too many of those lately. I don't even know why. I don't feel like they actually wake me up that much. I have a placebo like effect for maybe 15 minutes, then I just feel a little sick.

I don't know yr whole story, and I'm new on this board, but that would lead me to believe that there are bigger fish to fry for you right now than the LSAT and everything it indicates (ie, applications, school, etc) - you know? Take care of #1. The law will be there and this shit only snowballs if left to its own devices.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
