Any tips for people who just don't like the test? It isn't fun. It isn't written well. I don't like it.

How many of you would still want to do law school if you had decent employment options straight out of undergrad?

Define decent? Most jobs suck and are boring.RZ5646 wrote:How many of you would still want to do law school if you had decent employment options straight out of undergrad?

Law interests me and all, but at the same I really wish I hadn't trapped myself into going to law school by majoring in something useless.

College major doesn't matter. I haven't taken any business classes, yet the CFO wanted to promote me. It's mainly personality and hard work according to him. Just gotta have that spark, I guess. (I do not have that internal business drive, however, despite externally projecting it.)RZ5646 wrote:Law interests me and all, but at the same I really wish I hadn't trapped myself into going to law school by majoring in something useless.
You couldn't be an accountant, but most places don't need that skill set.

I just turned down a 6k/mo 6-month job. So safe to say I'm locked in on the LSAT. I'm doing a mid-career career change and I was probably one of the top at my job in the country in 2014.

Dang, that's dedication TWG.
I just know I wouldn't be happy spending a long time at my current company. The people are nice but I want to love what I do, and I definitely dgaf beyond just doing a good job at my tasks.

I've established myself enough that I feel like if I don't hit my goal score I'll probably find a job pretty quickly anyways and retake in October wherever I go to work.Rigo wrote:Dang, that's dedication TWG.

Also $50k in student debt, so it's basically law school or the welfare line.

Checking in! Haven't signed up yet but plan on taking it for the second time this June. I took it last September, and am hoping that I can score at least a couple points higher this time. Plan on applying in this upcoming cycle.

Honestly I would do engineering if I could do it over again, but alas, no time machines!

Forgive my ignorance, but what's so bad about having an LG experimental section? Are the questions harder?nlee10 wrote:I had a LG experimental in Feb.RZ5646 wrote:If June has experimental LG I'm going to break down crying and crawl out of the test center.

It was a joke. LG is my worst section and having to do two of them on an official test might cause a mental breakdown for me.ccordero wrote:Forgive my ignorance, but what's so bad about having an LG experimental section? Worst possible sequence is probably RC, LG, LG, LR, LR

Ha I'm also a philosophy major graduating this June. I actually think that phil courses encourage some useful skills that can be applied to various fields, e.g. critical thinking, difficult reading comprehension, clear, persuasive writing. Unfortunately, I don't think the job market thinks as highly of it as I do, though I've been able to get some pretty decent work experience during undergrad with some good grades and interview skills.nlee10 wrote:Should've done engineeringRZ5646 wrote:PhilosophyPeta wrote:How are you trapped? I'm currently working in consulting. I haven't fully decided on going to law school, but I am committed to taking the June LSAT.RZ5646 wrote:How many of you would still want to do law school if you had decent employment options straight out of undergrad?

If LG is one of your weaker sections then yes. I had it (exp) the first section and there was a game that stumped me.ccordero wrote:Forgive my ignorance, but what's so bad about having an LG experimental section? CS + finance = $$$. That's TCR for students with good people skills who are willing to take risks. Engineering is the safe choice.zacboro wrote:If I could do it all over again I would do some kind of economics - personal finance track. To learn something about the stocks and investments. I'm hoping after law school and once I find a long term job I do some self studying on it. We'll see if that actually happens though.RZ5646 wrote:Honestly I would do engineering if I could do it over again, but alas, no time machines!
