I think timing is my biggest issue.
And yeah, 45 days

Every time I come to a passage on English literature on a PT, I really have to force myself just to get through it let alone fully comprehend every word and point made

Finally hitting -5 on LR sections! I still have a lot of work to do, but that's much better than the -10 to -12 I started with. I'll take it. I've noticed it's much easier for me to quickly eliminate 2-3 answer choices.

With RC, it's just a game of focus for me. I'm able to go -0 on the toughest passages, but sometimes my mind wanders and I completely bomb a relatively easy passage.

tried this. it didn't help. Reducing subvocalization also seems to reduce comprehension.pleadthafif wrote:I struggle with finishing RC on time so I think I'm going to go all-in on Spreeder in the month or so and try to increase my reading speed.

Anyone concerned about test day drop or if the scores they are getting on PTs are real?

One of my friends told me that his PT average was 165 going into the test but in test day he scored a 160. Right now my last 7 PT range is 160-163 with one 164 so I am definitely nervous about a drop.appind wrote:Anyone concerned about test day drop or if the scores they are getting on PTs are real?
The best advice I read about score drops is from the Trainer; basically he says that all the practice we do is building habits that will become (hopefully) instinct on Test day. At the end of the day I think we shouldn't worry too much about it as long as you know you gave yourself the best shot to get the best score possible. Going in with the mindset might negatively effect performance.
I'm taking my PTs in test conditions (5 sec with a fifteen break after the third). I want to go into the December test like it's just another morning PT for me.

it'd be a good idea to have October Waiters to enter their expected and real score and section breakdowns in a spreadsheet, eg a google form if someone knows how to set it up, to estimate the drop for pt 76.beantheshadow wrote:One of my friends told me that his PT average was 165 going into the test but in test day he scored a 160. i think there was something of that form for the June waiters.
last time i took the test for real it was much lower than pt average and not sure I believe the pt scores.

What do think accounts for this drop in score? How significant of a drop is to be expected?appind wrote: it'd be a good idea to have October Waiters to enter their expected and real score and section breakdowns in a spreadsheet, eg a google form if someone knows how to set it up, to estimate the drop for pt 76.

Well, Shak... I think a lot of people do what you are doing, and its a smart move. You gotta master this craft before you put up a show. Smart!
