So so happy for you. In my experience, the testing room is REALLY FUCKING QUIET. There is absolutely no reason for you to try to battle that much noise during your PT's. Definitely do some more in other quiet places.vissidarte27 wrote:Oh man. I don't even know what happened. I just GOT it. It made sense.
And you were totally right. Lack of noise made a HUGE difference in my concentration level -- I did my PT today in my boss's dressing room (she's a singer and I got to see her show tonight). I wish I could do all my test prep in there. That room is magical, I'm convinced.

I've done it twice in the past. Max. 8 minutes or bust today.

That's a great accomplishment vissidarte27! I was wondering how many PTs and individual sections you completed before things just started to click so well.

YOu can buy it for 2.50 at Cambridge LSAT. They sell individual sections of games for 1.75-2.50, just bought two this morning for the first time to stay sharp....

While I may not be scoring as high as you guys are....trying to break into the 160s...we'll see this weekend! I'm slowly improving but sometimes the RC just gets me! LR i'm always -5+
I've been looking at voyager's guide on the RC, and while his strats are similar to mine, sometimes I just have a hard time ingesting the info.
Anyways, good luck to all!

Back to earth today, it seems.
PT58
LR1: -3
RC: -6
LG: -1
LR2: -1
Raw: 90
Scaled: 170
There was one passage in RC that just killed me -- talking about IP law, copyright, and tangible object theory -- and I missed four on that passage alone.
Still, I'm glad that LR continues not to suck and I'd be VERY happy with a 170 next week.

Blaaaaahhh. I wouldn't be disappointed with this score next weekend but I was really hoping that I would be scoring higher than this by now. October 2010 and I just don't get along I guess. The disparity between those two LR sections is kind of scary too, ugh.
Good job Vissi, that's still an amazing score.

Thanks, Pleasye.
I wouldn't worry too much about your 162 -- from what I've seen, you've been scoring at least a couple of points higher consistently. Maybe PT61 is just an anomaly, an exception to the rule for you. Come test day, you're going to do brilliantly.

Re: The Slightly More Official February 2011 LSAT Thread
Fuck the LSATs! I took PT 44 today and got a damn 159. Missed only 5 in RC by using voyagers strategy. Going to do a couple more RC's to hopefully get a hang of this method and get in -2 to -4 range. Missed all the questions in one game because I read the f'in rule wrong. Otherwise, I would have been -1 on LG. As for LR, I sucked big time. But on the exp LR which I used from PT 43, I only missed 3. When I was reviewing the test, I noticed that I picked the wrong answer on almost every question that I had narrowed down to 2 choices, one being the right one and one being the wrong one. Freaking noise was an issue in this test because I tested in a public library that was noisy as hell. I am done taking any more PT's because I think it's just going to depress me. I will be taking a few RC sections to perfect voyagers strategy and do several LG sections. I will do maybe a couple LR sections before the test. Hopefully, I get better results by doing individual sections and go into the test with a little confidence boost. I won't be posting here till the end of the test next saturday. Good luck all!

Re: The Slightly More Official February 2011 LSAT Thread
I think LR really is the key to this whole thing, given that makes up 50% of the material. If I do at all well on this test, it will be because I figured out how to not let LR kick my ass (thank god for the LR Bible).
Question for you folks:
Is anyone practicing the writing section? I feel like I should because I want to be prepared for everything this test'll throw at me, but I really don't want to. I'm a good writer and I can BS my way through just about anything and it's not like it's scored...

No, you don't need to practice the writing section

180 last night, feeling pretty good. I'm taking one tomorrow in real testing conditions (that is, with kids testing around me and stuff), so we'll see how that goes.

Re: The Slightly More Official February 2011 LSAT Thread
So I got a 165 on PT 60 today and got pretty discouraged by it since I need a 170 next Saturday. I don't know how much the score can be explained by a combination of my feeling burnt out and some random construction noise outside the window and how much of it is my actual incompetence
. I've spent the day trying to figure out a plan for the next week. I'm going to take another full test on Saturday, should I shun the LSAT till then or should I be reviewing? Also should Saturday be my last full test or should I also do one on Wednesday? I felt oddly short on time today and I'm worried if I don't do a lot more practice I'll lose my timing skills.
I really really don't want to re-take; I will have had LSAT on the brain for almost a year! Gahhh.

Re: The Slightly More Official February 2011 LSAT Thread
Set my new high score on PT53 today, although I'm not too enthusiastic since the LG section seemed easier than average & I did better in LG than I normally do. Still, if anything, it helps with morale.
LR -5
LG-1
RC -4
Raw 90/Scaled 171
Anyone have thoughts the level of difficulty on PT53's LG section?

Ugh, 175 on PT54 today. Not the worst thing in the world, but a lot lower than I'd expected.

Re: The Slightly More Official February 2011 LSAT Thread
Major +1. I was supposed to do a section with my study buddy today but just can't muster up the motivation. Between feeling apathetic about my application cycle and recently realizing that I've either taken every test or at least each individual section of every test, I just want next Saturday to be over. Kind of wishing I hadn't even signed up to retake. I mean, I still think I have a very realistic shot at a 175+, a very small shot at dipping below 172, and a very small shot at going sky high, but unless I get a 178 or something, I don't think it will have done anything for me but put my apps on hold for a month and a half.Pleasye wrote:Yes.vissidarte27 wrote:Is anybody else really sick of the LSAT?

Re: The Slightly More Official February 2011 LSAT Thread
I got a 7 point swing between my last two tests.. makes me annoyed at the whole process, so yeah, I'm ready to be done with this. For people like me whose weak point is games, it really seems like a crap-shoot.
But I've got one more test I've never seen (61) and one I've only seen once about 8 months ago, so I'm going to do those and maybe 2-3 practice sections, nothing major.
