I've said multiple times that I'm anti-BR for RC, as I really think the only substantive takeaway you can get from RC takes is if you're consistently doing poorly in a certain topic/on a certain question type. I think if you'r in the -5 milieu that is really hard to break from (and easy to fall back into), it's because you aren't recognizing patterns in the textzacboro wrote:Have you still been using this method for RC drilling? And did you also take the June 2007 RC section as I did?

Tell her to drop the class and take 7Sage.gamerish wrote:Oh a bit of good news for me. My best friend is taking the Powerscore class in March and she wants to study buddy once she gets going. She's not aiming for top 14, she says she'll settle for a 160 but I'm gonna try to push her since she's smart and very dedicated. Even if I can't convince her, being in a study group, especially if I'm the one leading it, is always a huge help for me in learning stuff.

It's Nature Reviews Neuroscience 9, 58-65 (January 2008)peppermint wrote:I can access the full text through work. I'll check it out. Do you have the title of the research study? Or is it in the Atlantic article?PeanutsNJam wrote:This is the abstract from the original paper. I have to pay to read the full text, unfortunately, so I can't comment on his methodology or even his specific conclusion.
"An emerging body of multidisciplinary literature has documented the beneficial influence of physical activity engendered through aerobic exercise on selective aspects of brain function. Human and non-human animal studies have shown that aerobic exercise can improve a number of aspects of cognition and performance. Lack of physical activity, particularly among children in the developed world, is one of the major causes of obesity. Exercise might not only help to improve their physical health, but might also improve their academic performance. This article examines the positive effects of aerobic physical activity on cognition and brain function, at the molecular, cellular, systems and behavioural levels. A growing number of studies support the idea that physical exercise is a lifestyle factor that might lead to increased physical and mental health throughout life."
It sounds like he's saying sustained exercise results in general improvement in all aspects of your life. Which is like saying water is wet.

Or maybe it isn't that paper, since the dates don't seem to match up. Either that's the right study or this Hillman guy is trying to milk the shit out of this cow.

Since we're relatively on topic at the moment.....just did 2 sections in a break in between. The gardeners were doing their work at my apt complex so plenty of distraction.

So I should continue exercising before a test? Cause if it's just a placebo I'm gonna throw my LR bible at my roommate and sleep some more the morning of.

Speaking of Detroit, how 'bout them Stones! Nice to see them playing good after seeing the Leos bent over last Sunday by the refs.

Re: The Official February 2015 Study Group
Hey everyone, late register for the Feb. LSAT. This will be my 3rd take and I am applying this cycle. Needless to say I need to crush this one and make this month of studying count.
I am specifically looking to improve on games. I went -10 (!) in September, -5 in December, and am hoping to improve on this further. What is everyone's preferred strategy? I started with Powerscore LG Bible, then went through the entire LSAT Trainer, and towards the end of my studying started using 7Sage explanations. Consensus seems to be that the best method (especially considering the foundation I have) is just drilling and then watching 7sage explanations - planning to basically do this but if anyone has another opinion I'd love to hear it.
Anyway, glad this forum exists to keep me sane and best of luck to everyone in their studies.

Make sure you guys are also eating a healthy diet. Diet and exercise goes hand in hand.peppermint wrote:RaiderRed wrote:So I should continue exercising before a test? Cause if it's just a placebo I'm gonna throw my LR bible at my roommate and sleep some more the morning of.

I would keep exercising. Even though the study was done on little kids, the overall result should still be pretty similar. When it comes down to it, exercise increases blood flow & the more refreshed/oxygenated your brain is, the better.

I've gotten really lazy with cooking since I started studying but I still track macros...That still allows me to eat out as long as I track the foods using their nutrition menus.Jgoods wrote: I think after Im officially done with LOLSAT I'm going to get a costume meal plan and shiz and start being a big boy and make my own food so I can stop being fat
