I don't get it. I'm scoring where I want within BR. But under test conditions I'm shitting the bed. Any ideas?

I have adhd. Should I petition LSAC for more time?
if you are going to petition, do it soon. I hear the process takes a while.

Yeah do it soon if you are going to. I read on 7sage's discussion somewhere that people with an accommodation get like 50 mins per section and no experimental. If this will help you then make it clear to LSAC asap

RC: -2
LR1:-1
LG: -1
LR2: -4 (was tough)
Raw: 92
Scaled: 172

Still not where I need to be but I'm satisfied with my progress so far. I've only been focusing on LG the past 2 weeks using the 7sage fool proofed method and it's REALLY helped me a lot I think. I should've gone -0 for LG but I made a small error on game 1. The thing that 7sage has helped me the most with is actually using the diagrams to make inferences. Before I was thinking too hard instead of just visually following the diagram. Rote memorization of past games is surprisingly helpful.

Now I just need to do something about LR. I'm finishing with extra time to spare on all sections. But then for LR when I go back to tough questions that I was shaky on I'm still not getting most of them. So I guess since timing is not an issue for me (I finished all sections with at least 5 minutes to spare for some reason) I think I need to drill LR a lot.

congrats, that's exceptional just for a 3rd pt esp the scores in RC and 5+ min spare in each section

how is it even possible to finish rc near perfect on a recent pt this fast, what's your approach to rc?
I follow most of the strategy outlined in the LSAT Trainer. But in general I really try to clear my mind going into each passage and I personally find it helpful to not anticipate what the questions are going to be (unlike in LR). I don't take any notes but I try to think of the author's intent with each paragraph. I'd say my first read through of the passage is more attentive than a skim but I'm not at all trying to memorize details. I prefer to go back and put the chunks I need under a microscope when a question calls for it. But I do try to read the passage quickly in order to get to the questions quickly.

I also think the fact that I've been a huge news reader my whole life is helpful.

Got it. I will get all the documentation required by LSAC and submit it tomorrow.

Feel that. :? :? :?
I'm the opposite... Freshman year me was so motivated and I had near a 4.0 my first year. My sophomore self is a fucking retard. At that time, I was like "ehh, fuck skewl i duNt cArRrrree". No clue why I was like that but yep lmao
I think that was me first semester vs second semester first year, when I took a couple harder-ish classes. I think first year classes kinda give you a false sense of security.
DEFINITELY! My biggest GPA boost for LSAC will FOR SURE come from my short time spent at community college. I mean, classes now are still not that bad they're only slightly more challenging but that's b/c they're upper level obv. But freshman English, algebra, intro to psych/sociology, omfg easiest A's.
For me sociology and drama classes were the easiest easy A classes I ever took! (I did both for GE as a freshman/frosh in UG).
Never took any drama classes, but sociology is so easy.. I've taken like 3 different soc. classes and have gotten A's in all of them. The only sociology classes I would say are SOMEWHAT of a challenge are probably the research/statistics classes. But I have only taken stats and research classes for psych, but i know soc. is similar in a way.
Yah, sociology is soo easy! Seriously the easiest class I ever took, I think statistics classes are hard BUT super helpful for the LSAT/and really any field. I loved the drama classes I took, they were so fun!

Stats is annoying and like any other math based course, a lot of practice, but it's not so bad. I did fairly well in that class but I don't think it's very helpful for the LSAT.

Never taken soc. I think my easiest ones were intro linguistics and (lolz) intro logic. (The latter had the lowest average of any class I've ever taken, which was amusing/vindicating.) And first year chem wasn't too bad.

Lol I've got stats as my one 'easy course' for the fall :|

hehe, stats was so boring but i got a good grade in it. i took psych stats, so our work was centered around stats in the psych world (obvi. lmao) which i guess made it 'somewhat' less boring..? lol

Easing back into it a bit - 4 games, 1 RC passage. eh mixed results.
Tea and Netflix for the rest of the evening probably. Going to need to remember to really take care of my immune system / general health here on out.

No - but similar, and my major's interdisciplinary-ish so it involves some psych courses.

last 5 PTs have been pretty stable, which I'm happy about:

Average Score: 174
LR Average: -1.1
LG Average: -1.4
RC Average: -4.2

RC is the only section that will fluctuate in performance. working on fixing that in an effort to get into the 175-177 range. read 60 pages of the BP RC book today and I'm loving it! it actually feels like an extension of the LSAT Trainer RC instead of being opposed to it.

Going to call it early today. Not super productive...

done today:
-submitted some tickets from previous questions.
-25 must be false questions (22/25) one was silly... one just stumped the hell out of me... and the other I was just zoned out...
-6 RC passages using memory method part 2 3:30; :30; 3:30

Dec 04 Passage #3; MM 5/5; BR 5/5
Dec 99 Passage #1; MM 6/6; BR 6/6
Feb 97 Passage #2; MM 6/6; BR 5/6
Jun 06 Passage #4; MM 3/7; BR 6/7 (MM -3 due to time...last few went quicker but spent a ton on first three...infamous maize passage)
Jun 94 Passage #3; MM 5/7; BR 6/7 (MM -2 due to time; switched a correct answer in BR from overthinking)
Oct 99 Passage #3; MM 6/7; BR 6/7 (missed due to not really knowing strict definitional difference between a conclusion and a hypothesis)

On the Oct 99 passage #3,
[+] Spoiler
I appreciate any insight into difference between conclusion and hypothesis (passage as well as general) as well as the difference between main idea and primary purpose. Both of these I got right, but I really wasn't sure why A was wrong for either one. I just sort of went with my gut.
For tomorrow...

Going to try to do the 'double the pleasure' LR homework of old LR questions (the double question stimulus things)...maybe do some later tonight.

If time permits or not totally wiped, I'm going to do 4-6 more RC passages. I really would like to see significant improvement on RC next time I take a diagnostic.

Finally, class 6-10.

Today's the first day in some time that I'm leaving the library / starbucks that I am studying in before they close. #SLACKING.

Starting a new job tomorrow, so I today is my last day of hardcore 4-5 hr prep (at least during the week). Little bit nervous that I'm cutting down my studying time, but I'm also feeling pretty good that I will be able to devote 3 unadulterated hours a night to the LSAT (plus like 5-7 on the weekends).

That's awesome!

I think we're in a pretty similar place right now - 174 avg on the last 5 as well, just reverse RC and LG in terms of weaknesses. We can make that consistent 175+. Just a few points away. We've got this. 8)

Doing it tomorrow. I've tried this entire time to deny that I needed the extra time. But I think I just need to accept I have a disability and it's what I need to succeed on the exam.
