I'm barely at 150 and hoping to break 160 soon.

The jump to 160 can be a bit of the pain in the ass when you are in the low 150s. If you're in the low 150s, most likely you need to revise some fundamentals.

Some things that helped me break into the 160s were:

Getting pretty decent at LG. It seems to be the easiest to get consistent on when you are starting off anyways.

Also, I really made sure to understand conditional logic and argument structures.

7Sage and Manhattan LSAT helped me most!

ETA: Also lots of drilling! I am doing every question from every test 1-38 and then PT'ing the rest. But when you do this, you really have to understand why you missed the question and why you eliminated the wrong answer choice. Being your own teacher is important while prepping for the LSAT. Don't let yourself off easy when you get something wrong - it means you don't understand something!

Hey All. Planning to register for the December LSAT. Tested at 169 a year ago and went through the application process, but decided it wasn't the right time due to some amazing work opportunities. Any tips on brushing up after a hiatus? I used the bibles last time, has anything new come out that have been more effective for you guys?

Depends on where your weaknesses are too. If you are struggling with time, downloading a speed reading app is super helpful. If you can just read the questions a little bit faster, it can mean extra minutes on each section to recheck, or think through a difficult question. The Powerscore bible for LG helped me immensely. It is the easiest section to improve on. Like he said, drilling each question type, and reading carefully into why you're wrong will work wonders.

I used the Bibles and I am using the Trainer now with Manhattan LG in case I have to retake. Those are both great and I hear good things about 7sage too. It wouldnt hurt for you to breeze through the bibles again either.

I'm asking same question about 170s lol, hoping to break to 170s before December.

Just keep working you'll get there.

Don't worry 150 to 160 can be done with a little work and a solid foundation of the fundamentals. If LG is a problem section, then it is easiest to improve. Cracked the 170's a few times in the last month. I feel that you cannot really have any weakness for a 170+ performance.

Yea- just keep grinding relentlessly and one day...BAM! There it is. For me, it was an all of sudden jolt into the 170s. Time frames are different for everyone, but the goal is to not stress about it, and just keep plugging along and eventually you will manifest the score you want

I assume you are talking about PT31, did you get S2Q18 right? For me it was one of the hardest in the section and I wasted too much time on it... Could've easily got few more points if I just skipped it. Even after reading the explanation I'm still not 100% sure that I can get it right with the time pressure...
I missed it, even though I finished the section in 29 minutes. I flagged it on the test book but didn't return to it. Last section after a long day of studying, so probably just lazy. I gave it my best guess and moved on. 18 is very convoluted and likely meant to be a time waster. I think It would be difficult to get that question right without spend a lot of time on it. On a blind review I got it right but it took a few minutes do diagram everything out (long inference chain, and the correct answer comes from working the contra-positive back from the 3 to 1st link in the chain). I suspect that even for 170+ testers that the correct answer is difficult to eyeball.

Same. Originally planned to retake in September, but then life happened, so December it is. Next week I'm going to pick back up with the studying. Here we go... :?

Yeah, truth be told I am now aiming for Feb or even June 2017. But my god am I happy I decided to forgo taking in September, no way I would have been ready...

Good luck! 8)

 The moment you realize that you have done every single logic game from test 1 to 70. Some once, others twice, and even more times..

And for the 7sagers out there, the moment you realize that in the past few months you've spent more time JY then some of your friends...

The tough but simple key to getting good at LG is to do them all, and then do any particular game again if at first it wasn't easy. This is coming from a guy that initially struggled to get through 2 games in 35 minutes, and now routinely gets -0 on all 4 games with minutes to spare. To anyone struggling with LG don't lose hope, stay dedicate, stay hungry, it can be done.

Hillary: I have been preparing most of my life to become this nation's first female president.
Donald: So what you're saying is that in the 30 years you have been preparing, nothing changed.
Vote for me! Make America great again!

What is the error in Mr. Trump's argument?

(A) Trump confuses the term "preparing" to mean something else.
(B) He assumes what he sets out to prove.
(C) Trump appeals to the emotion of fear that Clinton will not provide anything for America.
(D) He criticizes the source rather than responding directly to Clinton's statement.
(E) Trump refashions Clinton's claim, thereby making it easier to tear apart.

(A) is wrong; there is no confusion with the meaning of the word "preparing."
(B) is wrong; his premise and conclusion are not identical.
(C) is wrong; Trump does play on the idea that Clinton hasn't done anything in the past,
but it doesn't mean she can't start now, and nothing's "scary" about his proposition (well, maybe a little).
(D) is close; he is trying to humiliate or undermine "Secretary Clinton,"
but he does acknowledge her claim rather than ignore it
(this would be TCR if the Trump says s/t like "She cares more about her hair than this election," which would be unsurprising).
(E) is it; had he not mention the first part, Clinton's claim would supposedly not be weakened ("so what you're saying" also gives it away).
This is terrific. The hypothetical example you provided makes everything so much more clearer. Also, I think that I will consult my notes before I do a flaw drill from now on. Thank you so much for your help!!!

I read in the Spivey thread that applying with a December score doesn't make you late in the application cycle, it just means your application is on time.

December is essentially the last test date that most schools accept for a given cycle. You receive your score in early January, and most T14 schools' deadlines for applying are in February or March. Just have your application ready, and send it in as soon as you get your scores. You should be fine.

Yeah, what SunDevil said. Applying by Thanksgiving is early, December scores released-right on time, and anything after that is late.

You're absolutely right. I just have December ingrained in my head as the deadline for most of the T14. There are many schools that accept February scores.
