ahh okay. To be honest, if it's just RC that's giving you trouble, I think you should still prepare for Feb. As you know, there really isn't like a huge breakthrough moment for RC unlike LR and certainly LG. Good luck though. If I don't perform well in Feb, I'll def retake in June...

Just completed the Cambridge LR Sufficient assumption packet after reading the lesson in Manhattan LR book. Got 21 incorrect out of 58 questions.      spent 84 minutes to complete so approx ~1:26 per question.

  this is frustrating

Does anyone have a deep psychological cure for test anxiety? I took a PT the other night and started freaking out during the first game because I was taking so long. (As it turns out, I sabotaged myself by writing ~GN instead of GN and broke the game--no wonder all the questions seemed to have multiple right answers.) I calmed myself down, but if I'm getting so worked up in my kitchen, a test center won't be better. :?

Hang in there. If your are not at a point where you are getting most of the questions right un-timed, you should not be doing them timed. What exactly are you struggling with? Can you identify the reasoning issue? This should be readily apparent on SA questions. Figure out what your weaknesses are.

I used to get significant general anxiety but it is reasonably well-controlled, haha. This is primarily a timing thing, I guess. When I do questions untimed I calmly go through the steps and miss an LG question per section or so, but the clock turns on and my brain goes blank. Deep breathing sounds good. Calmness and confidence tend to be linked for me.

Checking in. Retaking in June after scoring 10 pts under my PT average in December (that was pleasant).

Time for a study plan, some drills, and whole lotta review.

I didn't do them strictly timed but on the other hand I didn't take all the time in the world either... if that makes sense.
I am struggling with finding the gap in SA question. I guess i just need to train myself to get into the LSAT mindset and think like them.

To everyone,
I am reviewing all the wrong answers from the SA packet. Trying to understand why the wrong answers are wrong(using Manhattan forums for this)... Now, I can think of 2 options:

Option 1:
repeat SA packet in a day or 2

Option 2:
continue on to NA packet then ---->read flaw lesson ---> do flaw packet ---> (continue on with the MLSAT LR book and corresponding packets)... After I am done, i will start reading LSAT Trainer LR and do the corresponding packets. This way I "forget" packets done earlier.

What do you guys recommend?

I wouldn't look up the answers on Manhattan unless you really need to. The most helpful part of that kind of review is working everything out yourself.

I say combine both options: move on to other stuff in the next couple days but then reread your material on SA and then redo the packet.

I used get anxiety attacks pretty quick but i didn't get any anxiety while prepping. On test day i did take half a Xanax just to be on the safe side (I'm pretty sure I would have been fine without it too). You'll be prepping everyday and I wouldn't taking Xanax that often since it could get sort of get addicting. I would test some relaxation techniques. Go on youtube or do a google search. A lot of people recommend yoga. Also, what helped me a lot was changing my view. I used to anticipate the worst before and now I have "trained" myself to think the complete opposite. During the Dec LSAT instead of freaking out, I was telling myself "So what if I do bad? I'll just retake it. Not the end of the world." Despite telling myself this, do I believe I gave it my best? Absolutely. Is this the ideal mindset for everyone? No, however it is better than getting anxious during the test. AND ITS THE TRUTH! you can always retake it, just relax and try to enjoy the studying. make you brain think you are really enjoying and are interested LR and LG and RC.. Felt like I wrote a lot but i have had anxiety for a few years and this has helped me best. Hope this helps.

Also was working on SA today and yesterday.
Did 10 problems in Man LR book after reading the chapter and got 10/10.
Did 32 new problems in the cambridge packet and got 25/ 32 timed and 29/ 32 after blind review. Really disappointed with amount of questions I got wrong. Anyone know if SA questions are generally considered one of the harder types of LR questions.? And for those of you drilling LR, what percentage of questions do you typically get right when drilling?

Are you able to anticipate what the gap is before moving to the answer choices? You should usually be able to do this for SA questions and if you dive right into the answer choices without knowing what you are looking for it can get confusing.

Are the Cambridge packets just unrealistically hard? What do your LR sections look like in PTs?

Drilling first, then taking PTs. Only full test I've taken is my diagnostic--- scored 154.
Remember going like -11 overall in LR.

When I first started tackling SA questions, I found that diagramming the premise and the conclusion helped tremendously. Even if its not formal logic, just having the pieces on paper and visualizing what the missing link allowed me to better connect the dots. Eventually you'll get to the point where you can mentally juggle the pieces and plug in the appropriate gap between the premise and the conclusion. I recall JY from 7Sage from one of his commentaries say that SA questions should be a question type you should be able to get easy points on in the LSAT because you can predict the answer relatively easy once you figure out what's missing.

Drilling class 4 NA questions in the packets though...makes me want to tear my hair out.

Thanks, problem is that the SA packet contains only 58 questions so it's difficult for me to really develop these good habits. Don't have many questions to practice with.

And would you say the level 4 NA are more difficult than the level 4 SA?

Cambridge LR bundle is like 700 pages!!!
Looks like i will have to go to campus tomorrow and use that remaining printing money from the alumni card. Should print out 2 more copies of LG bundle too while I'm there. (Another 600 pgs?)

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
