Can anyone go over Game #4 from the Dec. 1996 LSAT? I totally bombed the second half of the questions (22-24) when I was doing them in the LGB (p. 121 in the LGB), and I think a lot of it has to do with my not being able to get all the initial inferences. The explanations at the end of the chapter are also a bit puzzling to me as well.

Been having massive problems with Strengthen/Weaken in LR. The past two days they've been haunting me and giving me a lot of grief. One of those, "How the **** did you get that answer?!" type of deals.

Today, I found out my problem. I apparently, and according to my wife I do this a lot, read too quickly. I skim over key words that help define the conclusion and answer choices. Those dang word shifts.

I'm assuming I'm not just focusing intently enough on the question and answers. Similar problems from anyone? Just thought I'd rather and try to fit in here. Oh hai!

I completely forgot! I'd been meaning to look at 7sage after seeing so many people write about it. Thanks a ton! Was a big help.

Not necessarily specific problems, more along the lines of not "seeing" or "recognizing" the key words that dictate the premise, conclusion, and answer choices.

For example, I was doing some drilling last night and the squib was talking about "majority leaders". The first two answers, A & B respectfully, were similar but one was stronger than the other (was a "which strengthens more" question) so I picked B. However, the answer was A because A talked about "majority leaders" and B was wrong because it talked about "majority MEMBERS".

Sometimes I feel like I'm not focusing hard enough that I just glide right over key words.

EDIT: This also comes up in real life as well. I just think I graze quickly to get to the end and don't take my time to read carefully. All the problems I got wrong for the strengthen/weaken were all because of one key word or two that I missed. Frustrating but at least it's not because I'm completely clueless. :P

Is anyone here studying full time? I quit my job in May to study for my 3rd take in June but decided to take it in September instead, adjusting to being at home (aka unemployed) is HARD. I have no idea how to space out my studying/nap/workouts :?

For now, start studying when you can! I find I have better study days when I workout in the morning before work (work 40+ hours a week). When it gets closer to test time, start PTing when the test is. Since you have the luxury of not having to work, use that to your advantage! Go to where you will be taking the test in and PT there at the exact time you will be taking it.

Also, always nap. Always.

Beyonce,
I would personally wake up somewhat early... 8am-ish, make some breakfast and drink some coffee while reading then news. Then jump in uninterrupted for 3-4 hours. Take a break, have some lunch, etc.

Then get back to it by 2-3pm for another 2 hours or so. Daily. Workout during your lunch break or in the evening.

I personally feel anymore studying than that might result in a burnout. We still have close to 4 months.

Beyonce..  ... your funny

I was thinking about a similar schedule, treating the LSAT like a full time job. Start around 8-9am take a break at break 12-2pm then end at 5pm. I just have to find time for my work-out, I am starting P90X for the second time  so I need at least 1 hour during the day for that plus another 1 hour for my daily jog. I can probably do P90X during my lunch break then take a nap and do my daily jogs after I finish studying for the day.

Do any of you full time peeps study on weekends?

full time peep here.

i wake up about 9, walk my dog for a while and then get back and have breakfast/coffee around 10. I then spend 10 to usually 1 with LSAT. Then i take a break and nap. Get back to LSAT around 8, then do 8-10. And throughout the day probably an hour. So about 6 hours a day. And on weekends, I average about 2-3 hours per day.

This will change soon though. From June I want to be more consistent with my timing.

So far, i've got main conclusion and relative ordering down. Have most of sufficient assumption questions down. Spending tonight and this weekend mastering simple ordering. Then from monday-tuesday do complex. So by wednesday, I would have the ordering games done (minus the advanced ones). Then do necessary assumptions and flaws packets for the rest of next week.

goal is by june 19th have a half of what i want to do done and drilled. then by july 11th have the other half done and drilled. ENJOY MY 2 WEEK CRUISE. Then get back to lsat july 25th and PT till i die till august mid september. (will take a PT every other day, with the day in between spent on reviewing the previous PT). this way i would have drilled all the questions from PTs 1-40 atleast 3 times, if not more (through cambrdige drilling) and have had time taking all available PTs 40-72 with an entire day reviewing mistakes. And before 2 weeks of the exam, i wish to be getting 2-3 points better than my goal (174+).

Checking in. I am a full time peep too. I work 40+ hours a week and volunteer at a non-profit org. I spend ~3-5 hours a day studying, and hope to increase it starting June. Based on some of your comments, it looks like I am far behind in my preparation. Reading this thread keeps me motivated :D, so thanks folks!

Keep it up! You're not far behind at all. It just depends on who you are and how much studying you put in. Now, if you were checking in a month before the test...

Another brother in the full-time job position! I don't volunteer anymore but I participate in a Men's Discipleship group, mow lawns as a side job, and have a garden that is very demanding. I wake up at 5:30am to go to the gym, go to work 30 minutes early to study, get home at 530 and straight into studying, then dinner at 6:30/7:00, go back to studying at 7:30, and in bed at 9:15 or later. All depends on the body though. If the brain or body says it's done, I listen to it. There is no need to stretch yourself mentally or physically. If you need sleep, get it! I also study on my 30 minute lunch break.

It is a grind to say the least. However, I did take 18 credit hours and worked 30 hours a week so it's definitely something that you can do!

Well, I'm married so I don't have a social life.

I have to make time. I judge by how I'm hitting my goals and then seeing if I'm allowed to take a night off or spend a few hours playing disc golf etc. I also take breaks during my studying to play some video games, Hearth Stone, where I chat with my friends. You have to make time.

I'm not sure what your particular situation in but that's the best I tell you. Just make some time here and there and enjoy it! But know that for the majority of the next 4 months, you are going to be a hermit. Accept your shell.

I hear you on the family! I have scheduled things with my family to ensure I'm with them but also make time for studying. You might just need to explain to each one of them how important it is on what you're doing. Let them know you care about them and schedule time to hangout with them. Last night I went over to my Mom's house with 2 of my sisters and we played Mario Kart until 1130pm. It's not easy seeing I could have been working on my Conditional Logic and Contrapositives but it's necessary to spend time with your family/friends :D

The SO is a different scenario. Depending on how far away y'all live and when you are able to see each other, that's hard. Been there and done that!
