Nice. Just about to leave SBUX. Watching some swimming and typing up this little brief of today. If you want a nice cheap drinkable red, it's all about Col di Sasso.TheMikey wrote:enjoying a nice glass of winejust chillin, about to put together some prep stuff that i will be taking with me tomorrow morning to sbux
Had class today. Fairly tired. Four hours of class & 16 games. Fairly happy, but I do want to work more on some of these grouping games. They seem to click super easy or sometimes don't. These are all weird games where you want to simplify rules or variable sets.
DEC 95 G2; 7/7; 9:00 (R-8:00);
JUN 92 G2; 5/5; #:## (R-6:00); redo misread rules really bad so wasted a ton of time.
OCT 94 G2; 4/5; 6:45 (R-8:00); dumb mistake/lazy
SEP 06 G2; 5/6; 8:15 (R-8:00); redo #11 tripped me up
JUN 03 G4; 6/6; 9:00 (R-6:00); spent 2min on #23
DEC 91 G4; 5/5; 8:00 (R-10:00?); not even sure what this game was...most confusing wording ever
JUN 02 G3; 7/7; 9:00 (R-11:00);
DEC 00 G3; 4/5; 9:00 (R-11:00); #14 got me... I should have realized that it was wrong based on a later question...kind of lazy.
DEC 05 G4; 5/5; 10:00 (R-11:00); redo - had to restart my diagram
FEB 96 G4; 7/7; 11:30 (R-10:00);
DEC 06 G1; 5/5; 4:15 (R-5:00);
JUN 94 G3; 8/8; 12:30 (R-8:00); #18 & #19 took me like 5 minutes
DEC 13 G3; 5/5; 8:00 (R-12:00); (I'm really hoping for a rule substitution question... I don't think I have missed one yet and I typically do them really quickly)
FEB 96 G3; 6/7; 9:15 (R-10:00); #12 was an evil question... just a pain to read... thought it was simpler than it was

Oh no - each game just once. the R is the 7sage recommended time. I always jot the recommended time in the top corner of the page after I've done it just so it's more accessible in the future. the redos are just ones that I felt I could have done much better on (I'll redo them a day or two from now).TheMikey wrote:Damn that's a ton of games in 1 day. As it seems I am now ~Deathly Ill~ and thus can't responsibly drink alcohol, I'm forced to live vicariously through others' wine consumption.

oh i see, lol i misunderstood. you like substitution questions? oh gosh.. lol yeah i'm sure there will be at least 1, they've shown up a lot on recent tests, and june had one. i think i suck at them because most of my lg prep has been from older PT34iplaw wrote:Oh no - each game just once. the R is the 7sage recommended time. About to have dinner..BUT
I finally finished drilling for the day YAY
I just have to do chapter 8 LG which is a lot of LG, but hopefully I won't have to drill too much tomorrow. Yeah, I know wishful thinking lol.
Lessons learned from today: Chill tf out when reading the rules, don't rush to write each rule down, read them in tandem slowly, figure out what the game board and pieces will look like, and then ATTACK!
I drilled all of the games at least 1x some 2x. I'm going to do a fresh copy of all of them tomorrow, and then do my 4th/5th copy of them in a week.

Re: The Official September 2016 Study Group - WAKE ME UP WHEN SEPTEMBER ENDS
So, I finished doing almost all of Chapter 8, around 9 games tonight, I'll finish the remaining 6 games tomorrow.
Overall, I feel pretty confidant on almost all the games I did, there were only ~1 or 2 I was unsure of. My timing was between 6-8 minutes. If I got perfect scores on them, do you guys think I should redo them until I'm between 6-7 minutes? I know it might sound crazy, I just want to be really fast and understand everything, so something like nerves won't affect me (hopefully) come test day.
One thing I did differently, if I zoomed in too quickly with my game board I stopped myself and became better about reading the rules more slowly. Also I caught potential mistakes (by rushing) and was able to make better inferences than before. I really need to wean myself off of rushing through the rules!
Sidenote: Really wish I had a tv so I could watch swimming and gymnastics for the Olympics. I've been entertaining myself through snapchat. Oh well, I guess snapchat will have to do :/
