theres a lot of people on TLS who make the irrational decision not to retake scores below median and settle for situations where they are at a school that is not great (low employment outcomes) or stuck with stifiling debt. I just think he was complimenting your foresight to try to not be stuck in that situation.

ETA: Hi guys, Game 4 of Preptest 34. This one is full of conditional logic, so if you're not familiar and comfortable with the rules, this game will be a challenge for you. That said, let's get into the rules.

Knocked out PT 53. Will report back after Blind Review and grading. I'm definitely not comfortable with timing, however, I believe it will be solved by repetition.
Question: I have been taking my preptests with only 4 sections. However, in lieu of not having another section, I have been doing all four back to back w/o a break. Okay for now?

Definitely would add the 5th section. Eliminating a 15 minute break is NOT the same as doing additional q's. I didn't do 5 section ones and the fatigue really got to me.MTH2 wrote:Knocked out PT 53. Depends on what kind of test taker you are. I only did 4 section PT's and it didn't bother me to have an extra on gameday. But if you get psyched out by things like that you should probably practice with 5.MTH2 wrote:Knocked out PT 53. Will report back after Blind Review and grading. I agree, however, I was just cooking with what was available at the moment. I do think getting used to doing four back to back is making a break during the real deal that more welcomed.IsThisForReal wrote:Depends on what kind of test taker you are. I wasn't very fatigued during my first administration and I am not very fatigued now, hereafter completing all four. I would like to simulate the test as close as possible though. I have the thought that I should gradually build my way up to full simulation.

What did you get, Schmelling?schmelling wrote:I don't get why anyone would be doing 6 section tests or 33 minute tests or anything like that. I also don't understand taking "untimed tests" (AKA: drilling) or even taking 4 sections tests. The exam is five 35-minute sections, 4 of which are graded. PTs should therefore be five 35-minute sections 4 of which are graded. The point of PTs is to gauge your progress and make the test format feel natural, messing with the format of the test accomplishes neither.
someone who takes a ton of 33 minute exams will not be using their time optimally on test day, someone who does 6-section exams is not getting an accurate read of their abilities, nor will someone taking 4-section tests, which have the added detriment of not preparing you for the longer exam on test day.
If you want to work on fatigue do an individual ungraded section immediately after all 5 sections of a PT have been completed.
EDIT: Also, make sure to take the break. For some people it disrupts momentum, and you should be prepared to be removed from the test for 15 minutes, stewing over whatever mistakes you think you may have made in the first 3 sections, and have to get back in the zone for the last 2.
ETA: JY needs to know.
