1. Just about ready to finish week 2 (just going through the Trainer)
2. First time taking the LSAT.
3. I'd love 175+ (170+ would put me in the realm of contemplating a retake).

Went to talk to my adviser yesterday. He pretty much told me to sit on my 166, but after playing with mylsn it just makes no sense. Like I kind of lowered my goals from T14 to lower, but even so a 166 isn't that great because I still don't want to go to a TTT. My average was a 171 and that makes all the difference. I just don't know if I have a June retake in me in all honesty.

PS- kind of just talking as if people know me. I'm a febber, put in alot of work and undeperformed on game day with a 166. GPA should be 3.75 but unfortunately I'm really struggling with this one class and it might end up being 3.73.

still a solid GPA brah, also, focus on school, if you take in Oct its not a big deal, still a fine place for apps

I definitely do not have an October take in me. At least looking at it I think I would do better to try to jump back in for June. My first goal was above my average, but with my first take under my belt I'm alot more reasonable about this and I feel like with an average amount of work (still alot, just not a ridiculous amount) I can avoid burnout (which is what I think happened on test day) and perform just fine on the June test. AKA like a 170-172. That's my average... I just don't know.

ETA: I think I just need to sit down and take a diagnostic and see whats up..

I mean its plenty far out and ya obvi wouldnt have to study the whole time... I mean im not saying forget June, just saying make sure you dont let it interfere with school

Well no, I think mine is just a little inexperienced. He did tell me though he's like if you want to be a federal clerk or really shoot for a huge law job then I would suggest retaking. But if your goals aren't that high then it's not the end of the world if you don't go to a T14. I just wish he was more up to date.

Uh alright. Consistently bad advice is given though by people whose job it is to give good advice on the topic.
I've seen many egregious pre-law adviser flubs on TLS. Makes me cringe to the people who put all their faith in them.

Zac, 166/3.75 =\= TTT. You should definitely retake, especially because even a few points makes a HUGE difference, but this isn't a terrible starting place. You've got this!

To address some of the points about STEM above:

Bio and chem grads are mostly just failed premed people so it's not surprising that they can't get jobs. It's all about applied science / math; a plain science major is about as useful to business as a liberal arts major, and all the best bio/chem majors are selected out by med school, so you're left with unemployed people.

Regarding the value of STEM / why STEMites should feel special about themselves, I believe Chobo is hinting at the stereotypical engineering major superiority complex, and I don't need to hear that. I swear to god there must be an intro engineering class at every college called "why you should feel that you are better than other majors." (This attitude makes you wonder: if engineering really is so great, why must these students be so vocal and shrill in proclaiming their greatness? It betrays insecurity.) If you want to preach that, go on Reddit or some similar echo-chamber where they enjoy such diatribes. Personally, I don't think there is anything inherently better about STEM (compared to the humanities). Knowing MATLAB and mechanical stress equations doesn't make you a better person. It does however make you useful to business, and that is why we hear these constant calls for more students in STEM, why STEM students are given greater scholarship opportunities, etc.

I pity you, I really do. This is the most ignorant thing I have heard about any major. Life lesson: keep your mouth shut about things you know nothing about. Its not worth my time to correct you. Go out into the real world and learn how things work.

There isn't much studying going on ITT between your humblebrags and shitting on people's life decisions so I will not be returning to your "study" thread.

I think I'm gonna shoot for a June 2007 retake diagnostic this Saturday. Do yinz think I should throw in an experimental to gauge my fatigue or do you think I should just do the four sections? Only time I saw June 07 was when I did a few questions for warmup.
