BEST. RAW. SCORE. YET!!!
PT 48
LG -1 (Experimental from an older test)
LR -2
LG -0
RC -1
LR -3
Raw +94
Scaled 171 (Rough curve ... +93 for a 170)
I think that fatigue is definitely showing in the 5th section, but I'm getting better ... this was a monumental improvement over last week's 165 (+84). I'm making this face
all night, I'm thinking I could be VERY HAPPY with a +94 on September 26th.

There's a free kaplan event at the college that I am taking my test at the week before the test. I signed up for that so that I have at least one try with an "official proctor" and a chance to see where the school is. I think its worth the chance of a trial run to put up with the sales pitch. Anyone else had good experience with an event like this?

SCALED: 171
Bamboozled by reading comp once again, but confidence is rising...

LG -1 (misread the question)
Raw 90
Scaled 171!!!
Granted the sections were taken two at a time (yet strictly timed) before work, I am still super excited!!!

How weird is it that you can I randomly chose the exact same PT to do two sections at a time and got the same raw score on it?

Awesome! I tanked the RC on this one (-8) and ended up with an 83 raw (165). I also ran out of time on the LG and missed 3 in the final game, ugh.Raskolnikoff wrote:My first 170!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WOOOOOT!!!!!!!!!

Take 44 and let us know how you do! I just finished it and got a raw 84 on it (also a 165).

Since we're so close together on the PTs we should have daily/weekly updates. haha

Thanks for all the support everyone!! I was really happy ... now just hoping for a repeat performace on Thursday (and every test from now on)!
Congrats on the break through Rask!
Agreed, the wicked curve must have been due to an easier test, so it makes sense that people would be having high raw scores although not disproportionately high scaled scores on PT 48.Bustang wrote: internet high five! Seems like many of us owned this test.

PT 37
RC: -2
LR1: -4
LG: -3
LR2: -1
91 - 170
Added an experimental RC and missed 5 on that, I was really losing focus there. I tend to do better on RC when its the first section. Its hard to maintain RC like focus in the 4th or 5th section. LR1 didn't go as well as I thought it did... I made 3 dumb mistakes rushing the 3rd game fearing that I would run out of time in the fourth game, I ended up having 3 minutes left too...
I seem to have mostly gotten over my burnout. I hope I can keep it this way.

Sheesh, aps available this week, so deviating from studying to get three important ones in this week. But will be RCing like mad trying to get one step closer to 180...
Congrats on the 170 person above... finishing strong is something really to focus on - 2x on actual tests I lost 3 on the last 5 questions of a section because I got comfortable/extra-careful mid-section on one of the final sections and so slowed.

Did you already do the LSAT? I was under the impression not to apply until the LSAT has come back scoredruleser wrote:Sheesh, aps available this week, so deviating from studying to get three important ones in this week. But will be RCing like mad trying to get one step closer to 180...

I just took a 3 day break - visiting with friends - so I guess I'm on the home stretch. I've done well recently and am hoping I don't get too cocky. Need to keep up the pace!
Sort of scared because my job -teaching- is starting now too. Don't want to lose focus or dull my "edge"

Yes, I already have an LSAT score from previous test (I am retaking) but schools say get your ap in as early as possible, so they can assemble, date it, etc., and then just finalize it when they get the score. Some schools I won't apply to until I'm sure my score warrants it... but there are three I'm borderline at with my current LSAT score so I want to be in early just in case I don't improve for some reasonKulax22 wrote:Did you already do the LSAT? After a long stay in the 170s, the newer RCs on PT43 and 44 have brought me back down to the 160s
scored -11 on RC 43 and -12 on 44... Ugh. I was at -1/-2 before that for the PTs in the high 20s.

Not to discourage you, but I find RC's from the most recent tests (51-57) to be more challenging than ones from the 40's.EmVan wrote:After a long stay in the 170s, the newer RCs on PT43 and 44 have brought me back down to the 160sscored -11 on RC 43 and -12 on 44... I got -3 and -6 on the respective tests that you mention. I miss 8-10 on the recent ones.

Yes, it's sad but true ... RC is more difficult on the newer exams IMO.

I've been told I need to be more optimistic. I will stop telling myself a 170 is impossible, even though I have gotten exactly 162 on 5 of the last 6 PTs. Despite that consitency, my idividual sections are all over the place, except for logic games, where I always crap the bed, getting somewhere in the 55% range. Plowing through LGB; hope to post something better here on Saturday.

Re: The 160s Club! Join all ye 170 hopefuls!
I had been taking about one a week and then studying with what time I had left. Unfortunately, I work full time and am in my last year of B school, so time is limited. However, I will be taking at least 2 or 3 per for the next few weeks, and one a day for the week leading up to the exam... I am just waiting for LGs to "click." I feel like I have a pretty good understanding, but I am still too slow and have not put it all together yet on the games... in fact I suck at them under timed conditions. a lot.missvik218 wrote:How many practice tests have you been taking a week?barkingbug wrote:I've been told I need to be more optimistic.
