Did you take your exam in Houston? This happened in my room, exactly!BlueFeathers wrote:My room was so damn quiet and the proctors were lax. One guy asked "Can I wear earplugs" and the main proctor shrugged and nodded "Sure, if you have them you can wear them. Ear plugs are no problem."
WTF?
And one guy had his phone but he was being all chatty with one proctor so she took it and love tapped him on the shoulder and walked away giggling.

Re: Overheard at the LSAT
Well I didn't overhear anything truly funny but this guy next to me was very irritating during the last section of the test.
1) He has to use the bathroom (when he could have done so during the break so he ran in and out of the room making a ton of noise) and
2) when he sat down, I guess he was nervous, so he started stomping his feet for about 3-4 minutes. Either way it was very irritating and worst of all he apparently finished the test early! I have never been so annoyed before! What an ass!
Gahhh.....hope he didn't mess up my last section. Sigh. Blerg.

Girl: So, how many questions can I get wrong for a 160?
Guy #1: I don't know, I think its curved.
Guy #2: About thirty. So you could skip the reasoning section.
Girl: *blankstare*
Guy #2: You know, the short ones.

I wonder how many exchanges like these involve somebody deliberately spreading misinformation during the test because they think screwing people gives them a competitive advantage. We all know it doesn't (since curve is based on performance when sections were exp), but I wonder just how many dicks on the street think it's totally a good idea.lilliea wrote:Girl: So, how many questions can I get wrong for a 160?

Re: Overheard at the LSAT
I'm going to go they were just that stupid, at least in this case. Guy #1 actually stood up and started getting ready to leave before the writing samples were collected. When the proctor told us to sign the test booklet at the end of section five, he waived around his answer sheet and said he couldn't find where to sign it.joebloe wrote:I wonder how many exchanges like these involve somebody deliberately spreading misinformation during the test because they think screwing people gives them a competitive advantage. Re: Overheard at the LSAT
We were delayed over two hours because the testing center had only 7 proctors to process 479 people. By the time I got in there, the first people who entered the room had been sitting for 90+ minutes. The head proctor was adamant that we could not leave the room to use the washroom until the test has started. However, she eventually folded....
Proctor: "Ok if you absolutely have to go to the washroom, we'll delay some more and escort you. Does anyone need to go?"
Every single hand in the room shoots up like a firecracker
Proctor: "Oh my god! No, I'm sorry, but you'll have to wait. I emphasize...empathize...er...yeah, empathize with your situation."
Entire room laughs at the proctor.
At that point, the majority of the room bumrushed the exits and ran to the washrooms. It was a gongshow.

The proctor at my administration couldn't pronounce "irregularities". It's not like she stumbled and eventually got it, show didn't know what the word meant nor how it was pronounced, we all had a good laugh.

I think what's insane is that this guy took the time to actually find a visual aid to accompany this bizarre point he's trying to make. That was actually kind of creepy, lol.artichoke wrote:.....yeeeeeahFakeBlood wrote:lol, so i see you're from bumfuck nowhere, michigan. i feel bad ripping on you know because i was born there but quickly got the fuck out. i live in a significantly more populated region with at least 10 testing centers nearby. okay now.. with that information.. lets think about something.. fat auditorium room with about 200 people at my spot.. then, eight hours later a few cities away i walk by someone who taps me and says "didn't you take the LSAT this morning"?artichoke wrote:How is this indicative of a small world in any way?FakeBlood wrote:also, the girl next to me was looking pretty pissed. i ran into her at the bars later that same night! hahaha. smallllll world.

I can't believe I read all 21 pages of this thread. Funniest thing that happened at my LSAT administration was that half of the proctors didn't show up. And someone puked in the testing room. Oh wait, that's not funny...

Re: Overheard at the LSAT
The guy sitting next to me in the hall while we were waiting had never studied, never looked at PT, just decided to show up because he worked in a law office and thought he might go to law school. He had no idea what the test was about. I told him, you don't loose points for guessing, good luck.
There was a couple in the hall way too, acting like they were in high school. Over the top PDA. You would think that by the time you get to the point in your life where you are trying to go to law school you would have developed a sense of when such things are appropriate and when they are not.

Re: Overheard at the LSAT
This happened at 2 of the 3 LSAT's I took, it was annoying. Watching these 2 make out and laughing about how they are going to "merk" the test definately threw me off. It was more awkward than anything. The most interesting part was their reaction leaving the test, they didn't want to have anything to do with each other and looked like they wanted to /selves Romeo & Juliet style.edgnarly wrote:The guy sitting next to me in the hall while we were waiting had never studied, never looked at PT, just decided to show up because he worked in a law office and thought he might go to law school. Must be something mystical about that word - my proctor thought it was the funniest thing every time she had to say it - ah, memories.....kkklick wrote:The proctor at my administration couldn't pronounce "irregularities". Re: Overheard at the LSAT
Something I saw before the test freaked me out. I pulled up next to some guy waiting in his car (jaguar or something). He got out, started walking towards the test center. I think he went inside for a hot minute , came back to his car and drove off.
What was he doing? Was he dropping someone off? Did he forget his wallet? Did he decide not to take the test? Was he at the wrong center? Did his gf forget her 5hour energy? Was he practicing a dry run for the Feb11 test?
