I'm just about start now. I ordered my study materials a couple months ago (before the 2016 version came out), so I'll be using 2015. I can't imagine there's much of a difference.

Me too because I bought my version at the end of 2015 when I thought I was taking the December/June test. I haven't really gone through it hard core yet (I'm using it as a supplement with my 7Sage curriculum and I'm just on strengthening questions), but I'm hoping the 2015 edition is just as good as the 2016 one.

I'm using 2015 as well lol.. I doubt there's much of a difference. I am loving it so far, it is a more high level approach, not as rigid.

Have any of you using the trainer also used the bibles? I'm wondering if it would be a waste of time to start the trainer after going through all of the bibles or if it offers anything above and beyond. My plan was to go from the bibles into question type drilling and PT's, but I've been considering the trainer afterwards if you guys think it's worth it.

I'm doing the opposite, trainer first, then LG bible (which is the only bible I have) and RC and LR MP books. Idk if this is a great strategy. I read somewhere (i forget exactly where) that the LG bible is best after a little background. Someone feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, as I just started my studying and would change my strategy accordingly.

Hey all, checking in. Currently getting cold feet about my cycle, but that changes everyday. I like the schools I've been accepted at but school is still so expensive! At the same time I just wanna get school over with. It changes everyday.

Have taken LSAT twice, 148 in Feb 2015 and 167 in Dec 2015. The 148 was basically a diagnostic, did not prep. The 167 was me over performing my PTs in the two months of prep leading up to the test. My highest PT was 161 with averages between 155-158. I took 9 PTs and was studying from a Kaplan LSAT premier book and Princeton review LG book, which I found to be garbage. Any recommendations for a retaker breaking 170 this go? Need the 170+ as I have a 3.26 LSAC GPA. If I don't make it I'll feel sitting out will have been a waste.

yes, the Trainer should be done first. it reads more like an intro to the LSAT rather than a detailed guide to the the three sections (like the bibles). this is how I would go about it at least :)

I'm in the same boat, took the Dec LSAT for the second time and scored a 167, which was at the lower end of my PT range. I'm pretty much following NoodleyOne's Guide, but I'm not using the LG Bible (I use Manhattan). here's the link -- http://www.top-law-schools.com/forums/v ... p?t=195603. -- however, the Cambridge material is no longer available.

I am a first-time test taker, so correct me if I am wrong, but could this guide also be used for first time test takers? It outlines what I was already planning on doing this summer, a plan I developed just from being on TLS and talking to friends who are now in law school.

yeah, I'm honestly not sure why it's called a "retakers" guide.

It's definitely one of the guides that I've been following as a first timer. I think the only thing that applies to retakers is the emphasis on not having as many PT's available.
I haven't looked at a PT since November so I'm sure I won't remember any of them once I start prep in mid-May :D

I think it's best to start with the Trainer as well... The Trainer is written to be a comprehensive guide to the LSAT, so you shouldn't NEED anything else. But if for some reason I need additional help beyond the Trainer, I will be using Manhattan LR, 7Sage LG, and who knows for RC.

June test-taker here - I figured I would drop by and offer encouragement and advice from time to time!

I'm finished with The Trainer & Cambridge Packets (I still use my own packets of just super-tough questions I missed in Blind Review).

Now it's just 2 PTs a week until game day.

I will answer any questions about the trainer, study plans, pacing, etc.

Good Luck everyone!

Did you get the cambridge stuff while the PDFs were still available? Does anyone know if there's anywhere else to get those? I'm really kicking myself for not ordering these a couple months ago when I got my other stuff.

You may be able to find the physical books on Ebay or Amazon, but just a heads up, some people are taking advantage of them not being available anymore and are selling their copies for like double the price. So if you can find someone selling their's for a decent price then that is good.

If you can't find/buy them, LSATBlog has a list of LR and LG questions by type. only downside is you have to search through all your PTs for the questions.

So I think I'm officially in this group boo :/

There's no way I'll finish going through my prep materials and have enough time to PT for the June exam. Going through material is really going a lot slower than I thought it would. Drilling LR takes a long time for me because I try to understand questions I get wrong, I really disect the question and then review it.

Anyhow, I just finished drilling some games and now on to LR.

Did my first PT since the December LSAT. June 2007 PT I got a 157, which was in my upper range of PTing when I was studying for December. Long way to 170. No idea how I got 167 on test day, maybe I'm just better under pressure. Do people recommend the trainer for retakers?

I'm retaking as well. I studied last summer and read the Trainer as my initial prep step, and I plan on doing it again. I like it because it feels like a "warm-up" to the more rigorous stuff.

edit: but definitely move on to the PS or Manhattan books afterwards*

Hey man, I've seen some of your posts and saw you got into Cornell. Did you ever get any word on money or get into any schools you were WL'd at? It's probably not important since it seems like you're waiting for next cycle, but I'm just curious :)

yes, 80-100K at Cornell (don't want to give the exact number for anonymity). but if I did get into one of the WL schools I'd have to pay sticker or very close to it, so, knowing that I can score higher, I decided to retake and reapply! I do think Cornell is awesome and figure I'd get in again, so I also think it's worth retaking to squeeze more money out of them. Also would like to gain work experience hehe.
Haha that's good man. Best of luck to you on getting a better score as well as getting some good WE! I still have a year of undergrad to go :P but plan on going straight to LS if things work out, if not, I'll be sitting out a cycle as well.
