Is it too late to check in?! Checking in! Beginning study plan tomorrow. Currently taking 7sage online course. It builds out an entire study plan for you, so I like it. I also have a couple PS books and some blueprint ones as well. I'm worried 6 months won't be enough to study? Thoughts?
And I am still in college! so classes will be in the way and all that, but I still want to try.

Re: The Official October 2015 Study Group
I'm excited to see other people are studying early as well. I took the LSAT in October, and did not get the score I wanted or needed.
I was practice scoring a 165 ( my goal). However, I got the flu 2 days before the tests. Since I had a fee waiver, I still wanted to make use of it (and didn't realize you could cancel that late).
I scored a 153. Considering how sick I was, and that I only fully completed 2 logic games, I'll take it. I'm excited to see my improvement with additional study and under healthy conditions.
Best of luck to everyone!

Re: The Official October 2015 Study Group
I scored a 154 in December. I don't have an excuse. I simply didn't respect the exam and took it without studying. I have done cursory study since, that is, sporadic dabbling in Logic Games and the first three chapters on flaws in The LSAT Trainer. I took another exam and scored a 158, did a blind review as recommended by 7sage and got a 165 without completing two of the four games. After the blind review I went -0 on RC, -3 on LR1, -4 on LR2, and -10 on LG. I reviewed those three and four on the LR sections and I still don't understand how I got them wrong. I guess I'll just work on grouping games.
I'm still torn whether I should purchase the 7sage curriculum or just continue with self-study. I think the LSAT Trainer has a horrible approach to LG. It doesn't click with me at all.
I'm also torn whether I'll take the June exam or the October Exam... is there a significant advantage to applying in September vs November? I suppose I'll make a decision based on my PT scores the week prior to May 1st.

Re: The Official October 2015 Study Group
Again didn't live up to my study schedule have to do soemthing about it.
Now I'll try to plan it using real-time and prioratizing foundational study materials over more advanced ones.
I think that MG LR/LG/RC jumps too early to real LSAT questions, it is literally sink or swim. Although, I'm doing alright in their drills i don't think I should be wasting LSAT questions like that this early on. By the way, I'm using MG LR/LG 2nd ed. and RC 4th ed. Maybe, the Manhattan writers changed things in LR/RC 4th ed.
Moreover, I believe the LSAT Trainer's method of giving you first simple practice questions in drills after he presents the initial cocepts is a great idea. In this way, you can drill foundamentals of LR/RC and LG without blowing through Official Prep questions.
In addition, I hate it that only the LSAT Trainer has wide margin where you can take notes easily. I for one am not a huge fan of notes, but still careful writing down of a few key points helps.
Finally, watching prep videos in my opinion is one of the best ways to learn for the LSAT. For example LSAT Blog's Prep courses are great->
LG-https://ruzuku.com/courses/1564/overview
LR-https://ruzuku.com/courses/2717/overview
RC-https://ruzuku.com/courses/3441/overview
The course has some instructional top-notch videos. But, it lacks a consistent study schedule and practice problems.

Mental exhaustion start to set in - 6:38 GMT+3 time.
Didn't finish the LRB - only on the drill on page 52 ch2.
Also, didn't have enough time to do RC/LG.
Tomorrow will try to lessen and diversify my workload.

Yep, I think quite a few are. Retaking, so it never really stopped for me- well it did for a bit of time, but the material is there in the back of the mind. But I definitely don't think anyone would say right now its too early to start. I'll be going back to my old office job again which had pretty awful hours, but going to try and maintain an hour or so afterwards everyday.kirilrez wrote:What is someone else's take on studying?

Checking in.
2nd try here after taking June '14. I didn't live up to my expectations due to some extenuating circumstances on the day of test (car broke down on my way to the test center) . I really need to up that LR so I'm hoping that 6 months is enough time to get better at it.

Checking in.
My LSAT story is that I planned on taking it last Fall, but life happened and I postponed. I have LGB and LRB and have drilled quite a bit. Now, I plan on taking in October (hence the check in) and want to be as prepared as possible so why not start early?
I am also traveling to Spain from May - June, so I might as well get a head start.
My original diagnostic was a 155 and haven't taken one since. Hoping for a 170, at least. I know that's a stretch but I think I can.

Re: The Official October 2015 Study Group
Drilled 51 flaw questions untimed today. Pretty disappointed with the results. Here's the breakdown:
Level 1: 18/19
Level 2: 13/14
Level 3: 10/10
Level 4: 5/8
Total: 46/51
I thought flaws would be an easier question type than NA /SA but it doesn't seem that way. The answer choices are sometimes really convoluted and it's not as easy to eliminate answer choices. Anyone have any advice they can offer me, especially in dealing with the harder flaw questions? Would really appreciate it. Thanks!!

Checking in guys. I hope 6 months is enough prep time for me to reach for a 170+ score.
I just started reading the PowerScore Logic Game Bible a few days ago
I wouldn't mind investing in other useful resources to study for the LSATs. I seem to be having trouble with the Logical Reasoning section.... Any advice?

Get the Cambridge Endurance Bundle. PTs 1-38 broken down into LR question types, LG game types and RC passage types and then many 4 section and 5 section PTs from 39-70. Cambridge bundles are essential study material.Monkey D Luffy wrote:Checking in guys. I hope 6 months is enough prep time for me to reach for a 170+ score.

Agree with Cambridge Packets. Manhattan LR book is the one I used and found to be quite helpful. I havent tried the Trainer but have heard good things about it.Monkey D Luffy wrote:Checking in guys. I hope 6 months is enough prep time for me to reach for a 170+ score.

Re: The Official October 2015 Study Group
I'm hoping to take the October 2015 lsat. I've just started studying so it'll be about a 6 month study plan. I'm a stay at home mom so I study around 2 hours on week days and 2-3 hours on weekend days. I'm in Denver, Colorado if anyone would like to do a weekly meet up study session. I'm also opened to virtual studying with a group of anyone is interested!
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
