When I took their proctored test it was the free June 2007. I highly doubt that they would use more than a few tests each time because it would be costly to do so and many students come to those things only once, for their first diagnostic.RZ5646 wrote:I got an email about those Kaplan on-campus tests a few days ago... Do you know if Kaplan uses real PTs or made-up ones? It seems like it would be good for their business to use extra hard fake tests instead of the real deal.Cavetold wrote:Well your PT scores and that gpa...as long as you can "lock" it in. I'd definitely take advantage of the Kaplan proctored tests and challenge yourself under stressors (noise, lack of sleep). You're golden.....not sure why no Feb 15' test.
And yeah, I really just have to master logic games and I should have a pretty good app. Gotta love those A+'s... it's great being able to relax and knowing that the world won't end if I get an A- or even—the horror!—a B.
Of course I'm setting the bar extra high by trying to get scholarships. I'm going to have fairly substantial undergrad debt and no help from my parents, so a T14 full ride would be a dream come true.
Finally, I actually did consider taking the LSAT it this winter, but school ends in April so June will give me nearly 2 months of uninterrupted study time. I might not even work during that time and just study, work out, and relax.

I suppose I could always take my own PT to use. I'll have to see when the event is and if it fits into my schedule.

Finally broke 160 on PT! Of course, it was a 4 section...absolutely silent at my house...paused the timer once to smack my dog for licking herself really loud...and may or may not have recognized one of the logic games. But other than that ya...pretty much set on 165 by eoy.

Add me to the list. It's going to be a long 8-9 months, but I think long-term studying is more beneficial to me than going straight to drilling starting in January/February although I will, of course, start drilling soon after I learn the basics.

Currently drilling strengthening questions as I've been focusing a lot on LR of late. Going heavy on the LR till end of November when I'll start incorporating the other two sections as well. Hope everyone is staying on task.

Re: The Official June 2015 Study Group
Hey everybody.
Cavetold: Congrats on breaking 160 dude! I'm also thinking about adding additional sections to my PTs... my life has been chaotic lately, but once I start PTing again I think I'll skip ahead to maybe PT 20 and use the earlier ones to simulate experimental sections.
bnssweeney: Same weakness / strength as me (well, my RC and LR are about the same). It's the best combination to start with, so I guess we're lucky. My LG is really weak though.
Motivator9: Strengthen, weaken, and most strongly supported are awful.
TheodoreKGB: Starting early is good because it ensures you'll have enough time. If you need to study for months, you can do that, if not, then you can slack off for awhile and pick it up later. No downside and obvious benefits.
Good luck everyone!

Count me in too! I'm in the middle of some midterms and whatnot, but I definitely want to get started and be full time by december or early january. But...this might just motivate me to start earlier! Lets do it! I'll take my diagnostic in the next week or so. do you time your first ones or do it untimed?

Both. Time yourself but when you run out of time just keep going and finish the test. You might already know this but DONT blindly guess on any of the problems. Welcome aboard.

Re: The Official June 2015 Study Group
Just took it this Saturday. Long story short I studied for it a little bit 2 years ago, and was scoring mid 160's, but this last time got quite a bit lower. I got almost all of the ones at the beginning of each section correct, but as the time went on it stressed me out and led to a majority of my mistakes in the tail end. Gonna crack open my powerscore LR bible and get to work. Thanks for the advice and I'm excited to progress with you guys!

You might want to look into The Lsat Trainer which was written by Mike Kim, who used to work for Manhattan. It's been a great addition to my studies and along with the MLSAT books, they are superior to the PS books, in my opinion.washingtonorbust wrote:Just took it this Saturday. For the re-takers who took it recently...when are you going to start intense studying again? I took it in September and not happy with my score...thinking of starting again in January but not sure if that's a good idea. I'm trying to balance making sure I'm confident in my score with not burning out.

I was just looking at it the other day, do you suggest I go through this first or the powerscore bibles?Motivator9 wrote:

Both are good. I would suggest using both as a supplement to each other.washingtonorbust wrote:I was just looking at it the other day, do you suggest I go through this first or the powerscore bibles?Motivator9 wrote:
