I think we will get the link once we establish a for sure time.

Anyone who is considering joining the group or just wants to come to the first meeting and see how it goes:

I am proposing we meet at 7PM Central time this coming Wednesday the 7th.

Please let me know if this works and, if so, who is planning on attending.

Thanks!

Edit: And just to clear up any confusion: you don't have to buy anything from Manhattan LSAT or pay for anything to join this group.

The Manhattan study group isn't a videochat, but an online "meeting room" that has audio and some pretty neat things that allow us to all be looking at the same slides, work out problems, etc.

7 central is 8 eastern right? Count me in regardless.

Just reading powerscore right now might try a few sections over the weekend. Is there anything we need to get ready for Wednesday night (hw, particular diagnostic)?

Great, glad you've joined!

Check out the first post in the thread for the study schedule. The "homework" column is not mandatory, just to give us an idea of how the MLSAT self-study syllabus works so we can follow along. Noah will explain this better I'm sure at the first meeting next week.

Edit: And yes, it would be 8PM Eastern.

Are all of you planning on applying for the Fall 2012 cycle? I am not where I want to be, but I've built in blocks of study time between work and school so I can get down to business - no excuses. I'm currently registered for October, but I don't want commit to December unless it won't screw me for Fall 2012 admission.

I am applying for Fall 2012, but I'm submitting applications this month with my old score from two years ago and hoping December will help me with scholarships and WLs.

The general consensus seems to be that December LSAT is not ideal for admission, but I do know some people have gotten into great schools with it. There are lots of threads on this topic, and I think they would be helpful for you.

Either way, good luck!

Thank you! I will do a search on December LSAT pros/cons. I think it's more of a con for me since it will be my only LSAT score. Either way, I have joined the study session with Manhattan. I will be late though; I won't be home from school until 8:30-9:00 Eastern.

I'm really frustrated. I took a few practice lsats a couple of months ago and tested at 158. I have since then read and worked through the Powerscore LG Bible and a few guides for Logical reasoning and took about 6 pretests (3 untimed). I've been testing around 160. I took a timed pretest today (2011 June) and again I got a 158 exactly. It is as if I never did all that studying. Pretty discouraging.

Any advice?

Yeah, but on the offchance I don't get any offers that are appealing I don't see much of a problem with pushing it back a cycle. Plus qualifying for the work experience that Northwestern wants only opens up 1 more door that wasn't before. Considering doing that anyways after reading some stuff on the advantages of spending some time in the real world in between UG and LS.

I'm taking my second diagnostic in a few. I took one in May, but it was late at night, and then I didn't study at all. I might as well start fresh. We'll see how it goes.

Hello all, I was supposed to take the Oct. LSATs but I wasnt too happy with my scores so I have decided to switch it to December. I am still planning to send my applications in starting in October, so all my info will be there and all the info that law school admissions will need will be my LSAT scores.

I am very happy to join this group, because I definitely need to study alot more than I am doing now and having similar people studying with me is def. a pro.

And I have sent an email to Noah also.

Hey Guys,

We had a pretty good session last night. We went through a few questions but I think everyone that was there just saw the potential in the room as a place to efficiently talk out our problems.

In other news I took my first diagnostic, PT 40, this morning and scored a 160 (raw 75). This featured an abysmal -9 on the RC. I took the test with just four sections but without a break between sections. I didn't really have anytime to look over sections, but on RC I hurried through the last section.

Anyways, looking forward to meeting up with a few more of you guys next week.

Yeah I really enjoyed the session too! I definitely picked up on a lot in the 1 1/2 hours I was there, had to leave early. I can definitely see the value in doing this week in and week out. Will keep me on track. Is there a Sunday session too? Or is it only on Wednesday nights?

Hey All, I'm so glad the session was useful. I think this group can be great. Next week y'all are on your own, though we'll put in some questions for you to work on - make sure you've read the chapter on numbered ordering and the RC chapters so you're ready!

hi all,

I was going to register, late, for the October LSAT last night, but after speaking with my friend who was at T5 summer law program, he convinced me that I should take the Dec exam. I would love to join your study group; I just created a Manhattan user id and emailed Noah. I hope to learn a lot from all you guys and girls and hopefully contribute my fair share as well.

This is also my first post every on TLS lol (actually second now, posted the first one on the wrong thread)

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
