Like bk187 said, it came naturally. I still don't know what diagramming is as I've only just begun proper studying, but I would just scribble down letters and figure out a lot of the answers through process of elimination. Funnily enough, I feel the same way you do about people who do really well on the LR or RC without any studying. Some of those questions just baffle me.

(My very first score wasn't in the 170s, but my LG score was -2 so I felt like answering)

+1 to all of what red said...My score also wasn't in the 170s but I got a -0 on LG on my cold diagnostic, and I honestly couldn't say what I did to do well on it. I was a PHI major, so it's possible that a background in formal logic helped (RE: conditionals/diagramming arguments)? IDK.

If you're good at it right away, it's just something your mind clicks with. LG is super learnable though, it's all about organizing the variables accurately and quickly.

Well I didn't really believe that 148 was indicative of my potential, because I wasn't really attentive during the first exam. But I went through the bibles, completed a testmasters course, and went through most released exams.

I have come along way since 2009 (my first standardized test, ever), but I still have much more to do. Currently, I'm gaining accuracy, but I'm still on the slower side of answering questions.
