The drilling should hardly be mindless. Brute force won't do it. You need to learn how to make the inferences and how to approach certain games

Slightly related: if you're an engineering student why the hell do you want to go to law school?

How long have you been studying? Few weeks before September, nothing since then. I was going to take it in Sept., but crazy, unexpected shit happened -.- ... *Sigh...
If this your first time or are you retaking? First time.
What is your goal? 178+
Best and worst section?LG is my best section by far. LR+RC are equally bad.

So I can practice law.
Why else would I go to law school?

For realz Jackel... right now you're looking at "guaranteed high income" and "very risky chance at a slightly higher income in a radically different field" and you're choosing the latter after working hard for four years to earn the former. I can sorta understand for patent law, but even then it doesn't seem worth it. Engineering -> MBA -> $$$$$$

Law school is supposed to be take two for liberal arts students. Enjoy your industrial-capitalist STEM privilege.

For realz, I'm going to law school because I want to practice law.
Haha, I do think its funny you're telling me about a field I know more about, but I'll bite.
There is no "guaranteed high income" for anyone. Yeah, engineers earn more on average and have lower employment but they aren't immune to downturns in the market or company takeovers. There actually is a very likely chance that I can earn significantly more money as a lawyer with an engineering background, as long as I play my situation correctly. The field is not radically different, especially if I go into patent law because I will still be dealing with engineers and technology. Engineering -> MBA -> $$$$$$ may get you $$ but not $$$$$$. And those aren't difficult to get, there is no reason why I couldn't get my MBA after law school. And lastly, I'm not working very hard over here.

Yes, but OP has the memory of a goldfish. And I already typed out the answer for the 10th time so I posted it anyway

You people take things too personally. I'm referring to the fact that for at least the last 50 years our country has been focused on STEM to the neglect of the humanities, first because of STEM's military potential and now because it serves our materialistic culture. If you want to get scholarships, get a job, get rich, receive popular praise, etc., the surest way to do that is to study applied science or math. That's just a fact.

Which is why it's odd that you want to throw away all the opportunities you have. If you just don't want to be an engineer anymore and think it's mind-numbingly boring or whatever, cool, but saying that law is a more likely path to fame and fortune tests your credibility. I'm okay with admitting my UG mistakes: I should have done STEM.

I'm guessing she sees it less as "throwing it away" and more as "building upon it"

Also, I'd be interested to see a poll about political affiliations ITT. Dem, Rep, Libertarian, Green, etc.

I like it. What are some of the more obscure parties/camps that I should add to the poll?

You're right, I took it way to personally and wasn't joking at all
Who wants to catch all the opportunities I'm throwing away? Line up, theres a bunch so you have a good chance of catching at least one.

From left to right (these are political ideologies, not parties):

Socialist
Green
Progressive Democrat
New Dems Democrat
Blue dog Democrat
"Country club" Republican (think George H.W.)
Republican
Tea Party Republican
Libertarian

Lolwtf RZ. Suggesting that STEM majors get better opportunities because it "serves our materialistic culture" is vague, and to suggest that this is the primary reason is downright offensive.

There are SO many reasons for why STEM majors tend to do better than humanities majors, and a lot of them are quite legit.

To suggest that STEM is a surefire way to success is completely wrong. In many cases, it's a hell of a lot harder than humanities and can saddle people with subpar GPAs.

STEM also isn't nearly as easy as you say. You can't just go, Oh I'm gonna do STEM, givemediplomathxbai.

I try not too confrontational, but RZ, you make me want to just shit on humanities majors for pages on end, shit on you, and shit on people like you who shit on others for applying to law school when they've already done STEM/finance/or the like.
