I don't even know if I'm going to be applying to stanny tbh
if everyone stays out, I have a shot.

lmao I am spending a month of a tailored PS and I'm still going to get super dinged
who is your 2nd and 3rd choice?
$$$ and then $$ lol

Stanny is the only school i would pay sticker at, lots of folks with my numbers either get dinged or hella money from Duke/UVA/Mich. I would like to practice BL in Texas if I accrue so much crippling debt but otherwise I'm clerk orientated rn
So UT is a top option with good $$$ for you?
nah, the insularity of that school and the fact it doesn't travel very well frightens me. in my mid 30s if not partner i want to migrate to the motherland again which a UT degree is worthless there.
1. S
1.5. (and a crisis) H
2. UVA
2. Duke
3. mich
4. everyone with money

I like Michigan, but tbh I haven't really done much research on UVA or Duke.
speaking of UVA... I wonder how sweet is doing...

Both UVA and duke travel much better in the south than ut, shit i would argue Vandy has more lay prestige. Michigan does good in the Midwest and NYC, with ties southern BL isn't impossible but it is an up hill battle. all 3 have very low CoLs

I'm almost offended my tops (NYU/Columbia) aren't on your list. But also, stay away because I need as little competition as possible lol

CLS is there but I don't see significant money from them, they throw a butler my way and now we are talking but 300g+NYC BL for 8 years isn't ideal. the only reason why I like stanny a lot is clerkship, location and placement. if I can get a clerkship and the go to boutique lit, I'll call it a success.

NYU is expensive af too.

I wonder how much is self-selection. I'm really hoping it can carry outside of NYC a bit if you try. it's got the lay prestige and its employment numbers are killer. I get the concerns about debt though.

it's lrap is decent too but if it comes down to 150g at Mich and 25g at CLS, I'll take my chances at Mich. plus I am tall and a baby who requires at least a queen size mattress and NYC has no affordable rooms for that and a desk

I'm 5'3 but where would I put all my shoes? I need lots of money with minimal debt - I can deal with a closet bigger than my room.

Oh yeah absolutely but I mean like at equal or lesser price.
I'm somewhat partial to CLS and NYU, largely because people with my numbers tend to get the most money from them.

I'm sure you've probably said this somewhere on here, but what are your numbers?

Also, do you plan on applying to NYU/Columbia?

You can get a mansion in Ann arbor for like 3g a month. not saying I would by 3g in NYC is pretty standard for a 1/1 . You will be the one who gets S Alex, not I you are the chosen one.

Just FYI from the thread about Trumps student loan plans:

The loan forgiveness program, enacted in 2007, was designed to encourage college graduates to pursue careers as social workers, teachers, public defenders or doctors in rural areas. There are at least 552,931 people on track to receive the benefit, with the first wave of forgiveness set for October. It’s unclear how the proposed elimination would affect those borrowers.

http://www.top-law-schools.com/forums/v ... 2#p9993242

I know you guys want to be aware of this and the thread seems easy to miss.
Sorry if you've seen it already.
Also, grad school loan repayment is going to 12.5% for 30 years.

You seem to be well versed in this world, way more than I am so if you don't mind I have the hypotheticals of hypothetical.

Holding CoL in this instance (because in everyone aside from NYC is covered) Stanford is #1 for me, it is a long shot but still roll with me on this. In light of the new loan plan, lets say I got accepted into Stanford with their median (30g for 3 years) grant as well as UVA with 135g; which would you pick if your goal was clerkship then boutique lit?
