Tied for my best score so far. After burning out last week (scored a 170, avg is 175) and taking a few days off, feels good to get back in the swing of things. The two on RC were questions I knew I was waffling on -I had them both narrowed down to two, and in both cases selected the wrong answer  - but I didn't have time to go back and double check. If I had just gone a little faster it might have been my first 180 PT... guess it gives me something to look forward to next PT :D
DUDE
Congrats!! :D :D

I have an internship with very little responsibility. I throw on my headphones with some brown noise and take timed PT sections. If I get assigned a project I'll just take a break in between sections and get it done. Sometimes it can be distracting but I'm usually able to get one or two PTs done per day.

Ouch.

Just finished BRing games (apparently the bad section was the real section); -4 during test and -0 during BR. I think sometimes I'm better off just trying to rule drive for hard games rather than diagram...I seem to have a better understanding of rules than just trying to brute force my way through (I find rule substitution questions like ridiculously easy.) Dec 2011 G4 is rough IMO. Any tips for dealing with that? I had set it up as an ordering game with 6 slots and a GG block, but, obviously, that makes the answers confusing when having the GG block could add or subtract a slot to a given question.

Although, every so often I run into 1 or 2 question(s) on a PT that is a real head scratcher even after I check for the correct answer.
i found that for the questions that really stumped me, the explanations at the site were too simplistic or in a couple instances incorrect. sometimes, they'd gloss over or handwave the issue that i was concerned with.
I completely agree with appind. I do not like LSAT hacks because their explanations are too simplistic and not helpful at all. Sometimes I feel JY glosses over some of the LR questions too, in those cases I always go to the Manhattan forums. Some of the posters are there are very helpful. That's only when I'm completely stumped, I feel the most progress is made when you try to reason the explanations yourself.
Thanks for the input

LR today - 0, 0, aaand -3 on 20.1 -_-
One was kind of misreading/kind of not. Other two were definitely not. At least I'll have some material to flesh out my new word doc. Noticing difficulty levels in LR sections can really vary significantly, and the hardest questions can really screw me up.

well I completely dropped the ball on PT 43 RC, went -9! this was a tough section according to 7Sage. I missed a few because of misreads, one because I ran out of time and had to guess, and others just because of dumb mistakes that I realized after review. my last 3 RCs from my last 3 PTs were -4, -2, and -5, so I'm gonna assume it had to do with doing no warm-up and going at it right after breakfast so soon after I woke up hehe. I'm gonna do another section tomorrow from PT 44.

edit: this was a good learning experience though, I figured out everything I did wrong and now I can look out for these types of potential mistakes in the future

Yeah - Groggy RCs / RCs sans warm-up are the worst.

We both did shitty on RC today, pt 46 rc is apparently 5 difficulty.
this one was 5 as well. honestly the biggest blessing on the LSAT is a hard LG section. when the LG section on an LSAT is easy, the LR and RC sections tend to be much tougher. this PT had a 1 star LG. but when LG is tough, the rest is usually easier. I find it easier to handle a tough LG than a tough LR or RC.

Easy LG makes the curve less forgiving too.

Anyone for Dec 2011 G4? Haha. Going to watch 7sage, but, even during BR, it took me awhile. There's no way I had the most efficient way of setting that up.
[+] Spoiler
set up was basically...

placing {GG, R, S, T,W}

GG -> 1.0&1.5, 2.0&2.5, or 3.0&3.5
No T in 1.0, 2.0, 3.0

1.0 - 1.5 - 2.0 - 2.5 - 3.0 - 3.5

It just makes reading answers (really) shitty

Ehh, not always. June had a relatively easy LG section and the curve was -11, unless -11 is not too forgiving O.O
Idk, my definition for being less forgiving is something like -9 or lower. -10 would be eh.

Well, I suppose all else equal? :P

Just finished LG blind reviewing...

Dec 2011; -4 during test; -0 BR (4th game just was really nasty)
'EXP' section June 2005; -0 during test; -0 BR; finished 5 minutes early.

Still watching the videos for RC.

So far:
P1: -1 5/6
P2: -2 4/6

My two mistakes on P2 were 1) main point question, I went with a fact in the argument that was true as opposed to the main point, 2) it was a what was the function of the third paragraph question, i went with the enumerate instances in which a phenomenon occurred vs provides support for the argument. My problem here was I was thinking of phenomenon in terms of the argument instead of something such as lightening (example given by JY) that occurred. It was a Humanities passage, so I'm thinking when I see the word phenomenon I will think more along the lines of scientific occurrence as opposed to an idea or claim.

As protein said earlier, the most important thing is to recognize the mistakes and understand them so we don't make them in the future. There is no point in bemoaning your existence or self worth, that's not going to help in LSAT prep. At least that's my attitude, maybe it's too cheery lol.

Anyone else have this problem? After I drill or do RC, I am exhausted. Doing a LG or LR section does not tire me out, but RC really drains me mentally. I'm sitting here yawning away watching the video, but staying away from caffeine (I can't drink it after 4pm because then I'll be up all night).. I wonder what I can do to combat this? Really hope I don't get RC as experimental lol

Y'all, 20.1.24 is killing me.
I am so bad at simple math it's terrible....

I drew it out and I think I get it now (maybe?). I think I was partly getting thrown off by thinking the tally was the amount mined and not C in *that* year, even though the question makes it pretty apparent that that's not the case. Took me ridiculously long.

I still need to 7sage game 4 of that set. I don't want to because I don't want to admit that I still have to 7sage games. :? :? :?

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
