If you haven't already, I would post in the Law School Acceptances, Denials, and Waitlists Threads for better response. Aside from some of the veterans that popped in today, I think most of us are taking the LSAT for the first time/applying next cycle.ilikebaseball wrote:What's the latest a school has called you guys thus far for a decision? And have they all called? Or have some just sent email
Good luck!

Re: The Official February 2015 Study Group
alrighty, well i'll pop in. Since I'm a "veteran" I guess (also retaking in Feb for more $$$). I'm usually perfect on LG, I struggle in RC (ugh), and am completely self taught. I probably spent around $150 bucks on study materials (along with some very generous gifts from fellow TLS members). If anyone has any Q's please please please ask

Thanks!! going to keep this in mind. lol I'm reading this thread backwards now. I tried reading the older post first, but couldn't keep upShakawkaw wrote:Watch JY's videos - they're pretty spectacular. He has a "sneak-in" (meaning it adds a new world) vs "knock-out" (meaning it eliminates a world) method. The latter is easier to see - if the AC knocks out some world that isn't allowed with the original rule, you can eliminate that AC as a contender. For sneak-in, if you can come up with a new world that wasn't allowed previously, you can eliminate that AC as well. This is time consuming (especially to test for sneak-in ones). JY suggests skipping rule subbies and doing everything else first.kang wrote:How do you guys approach the substitute questions for LG?
From the December thread:
Shakawkaw wrote: If you haven't already, I would watch JY's videos to see how he attacks the questions. He usually suggests skipping it and coming back to it, but I find that this approach, for me at least, either leaves me with no time left to answer it, or I forget until the very last minute and rush/guess.
You look at your original diagram and make a separate diagram eliminating the rule the question tells you to. Go through each answer choice and add it to your amended rule. If it makes connections/inferences that differ categorically from your original, it's wrong. For example:
Original: X-Y-Z
Remove: Y-Z
Amended diagram: X-Y
AC: Z is before Y.
Amended AC diagram: X + Z>Y
While this is a very simple example, it's clear that this answer choice is incorrect because it contradicts the original diagram, where X and Y are before Z.

Re: The Official February 2015 Study Group
I just started doing this last Saturday. I'm pretty sure this played a factor in helping me break the high 160s plateau. I actually reviewed all the answers before taking the real PT though. I got a 100% on the warm-up and this made me confident going into the test (I think its a good idea to make this relatively easy? IMO). BUT I'm not sure about it being a 6th section... I would say adding a second RC section would be a better idea if you are looking to increase your endurance. I don't know about you, but I love LR and LG, but RC really takes a toll on me. I think its best to be prepared for the worst.zacboro wrote:So between the rest of this week and next week (more so next week though) I'm going to try to improve on my endurance. I'm thinking of doing about four 6 section PT under timed conditions. But instead of just splicing PTs in for 2 extra sections, what if I made 4 sections (one to use for each PT) that consisted of 1 game, 1 passage, and 12 or so LR questions, and did one of these mixed up sections as the first section of each 6 section PT, as a warmup, and then not BR/ or grade it afterwards. For warmup now I usually just read over a few questions from the day before because I don't want to taint any new material just for a quick warmup. But I feel like this would be a good warm up strategy, and if I complete my weird mixed up section timed, and move right into the next section, I feel like it would accomplish what I want it to accomplish for my endurance. What do you all think?
ETA: I'm really looking for feedback so anything helps.
