So for those of you who are retaking in June instead of February, what made you decide to wait until June? Or I guess for those not waiting, what made you decide to not wait and take in February? I'm around the upper 160's now and I'm not sure if I should drop everything and study for the next month (hopefully hit 170) or if I should just suck it up and postpone (and hopefully get 173+). Curious as to pros/cons you guys came up with. (99th percentilers are also welcome to answer)

How long have you been studying? It's tough to pass from the upper 160s to lower 170s, but it happens very suddenly, like it just clicks. Once I started scoring in the 170s, I never dipped below 171. I think I had studied from June to the beginning of September before that happened. (FYI, diagnostic was 164).

This happened after I had started re-reading the Trainer, BRing PTs, and drilling Cambridge packets by question type. (Before then, I drilled whole sections and was very lax about reviewing incorrect answers on PTs.)

I ended up getting a 167 in September, which was infuriating. I would say that you really need to take your PT average and subtract at least five points, and expect that score. That actually seems to be about the average for all of us who underperformed in September.

Take the LSAT seriously while you're studying (i.e., by yourself). Come here to relax, get some good prep advice, and blow off steam. That's the purpose of a study thread.

I disagree. To relax or blow off steam I go elsewhere. For the past two weeks I've been using this thread as study material. If you want to blow off steam and relax then make a new thread for doing just that. I love using the advice and input from others who are on the same timeline as me and implementing it into my everyday study. I would compare the way it's been today and yesterday as sitting at a table for a study group but every other chair is occupied by someone who isn't focused on studying. And those people in every other chair are having a conversation about the weather. So your job is to communicate with your group effectively but you have to just put up with the non-studiers. I don't want to waste my time arguing. And I am very appreciative of the advice you've been giving me, and everyone else. But I completely agree with Stray about how annoying the focus of this group has been recently.

Look if you have any questions about a question, ask the guys talking about weather, we'll drop our conversation to answer your question. I don't see what the big deal is. The people shitpoasting here know what they're talking about. Most of us are 170+, and those who aren't got really unlucky on test day (seriously, they did).

ETA - It's not important how many questions so-and-so got wrong on the last LR section he/she drilled. What's important is what you need help with, and this is the place to ask those things.

I am waking up earlier in the morning on week morning and compensating for it by sleeping until 6pm on weekends.

I think it was a shitty test, more than anything. I was anxious and uncomfortable, of course, but it was just a really shitty test. I hadn't scored lower than a 169 since July, so when I got my score email, I actually started laughing and just kept saying, "Is this a joke? This is hilarious." Then I did end up crying hysterically all night. But by the next day I was over it.

And I have stayed over it. If I don't score well enough in February, I will just take it in June.

And that is the strategy. Care a lot less. Also take at Pace University, because Brooklyn College is hell.

I completely agree, it is awesome to have such smurt people to reply to questions and give advice and such. I feel part of the issue is context (the convo's do get pretty ridiculous at times, not always though) and then the sure speed of posts. People (maybe just me) like to keep up with things I am a part of. I enjoy when I hop on and catch up on posts I missed so I can keep up with where people are, advice given while I was away, and potential advice I could offer but when you take a break for an hr and theres 5 more pages of random stuff it is a lot to sift through and often not worth it (like you hop on after work or take a break mid studying after being gone for a few hours and theres too much to read over in your break time) possible a bit of a selfish outlook and maybe its just me who has this thought process but thats my main things of why I tend to comment on the crazyness, still <3 y'all tho (plus its my job as a superhero)

Just did a question from PT1...I had NO idea that pit bulls aren't a dog breed. So now I've spent a solid half hour reading about pit bulls. Anyway someone was talking about not taking a Brooklyn College should I take at Pace or Eleanor Roosevelt???
