I want to start an iced coffee truck. Just iced coffee and syrups / flavorings.

Iced coffee is such a racket. It's unbelievable. Local deli is charging $4 for it already.

2 LR sets down, 25 min and just under 30 min. -1 on both. (last question both times)

Now to try to get to this point on RC...

Going over PT59 after BRing and going over the questions I missed. The RC section on this exam was unusually hard, so I don't feel as bad going -10 after BR. But, it is still unacceptable.

Tour question: would I get anything out of touring during Thanksgiving break? Like, I know classes wouldn't be in session, but would it be worth it if it's one of the few times that works for my schedule?

I mean I don't see why not if you have nothing else to do or it isn't too much of a financial burden. Granted, you're not going to get that much of a feel for a place in a day or two.

Hello everyone,

Out of curiosity, are there people getting together and studying as a group in Chicago that I can join? Or if there is anyone even from Chicago?

it seems the RC secret is "read as fast as you possibly can and hope for the best." (I have no idea what's going on with me and this section rn tbh...)

Agreed. I guess things would be potentially closed, and no classes, but I don't see why not.

Also, totally unrelated, but - how are you doing timing for the Economist passages, SweetTort?

I'll do one or two RC passages tonight I think. Database of missed and/or uncertain LR questions is slowly growing. I may pop in another 5-10 tonight depending how I'm feeling as I'm a bit wiped from doing any critical thought. Thankfully, I generally have 90%+ accuracy or roughly 85% right with absolute certainty, or this would be impossible.

In the end though, I will be able to make a LR packet of absolute misery. Maybe, if I'm too wiped for LSAT prep tonight or another night, I'll write the code to print out the database to a question packet. That should be easy... I just need to find out a way to check whether something is printed out to one page or not.

Going to try it later on today. Will report back.
Just finished games for PTA, so reporting back. Yeah, not the funnest game.
[+] Spoiler
I think the biggest rule here is the G/F and V/W, along with the fact that G cannot be beside R and neither F or G can be 1 or 7 (er, like, most of the rules.) imo the best approach for the brute force-ish questions / q 15, 16, and 17 is to ID the variables that stick out / have a lot of restrictions, and try those first. Also one thing I've found - that was v useful for 17 - is to be aware of variables that are equivalent in terms of the rules that apply to them. In 17 Q and S are equivalent, so if Q can't, then S can't, V and W are almost equivalent, and R is not equivalent to any of them.
Lol I went -1 on this set because I didn't realize the numbers in q 12 weren't consecutive. Stared at it afterwards for a good three minutes, totally baffled how my answer was wrong.

Okay, I'm throwing my hat in the ring. I hope that everyone else who studied for the February 2015 test has since gone on to bigger and better things and forgotten all about me. I got a 175 then and was really pretty disappointed by it. I'm aware how douchey that seems, but my preptest results really were indicating that I was capable of scoring higher. I haven't systematically studied LSAT since then, but I do logic games pretty frequently for fun. I love tests and the LSAT is definitely my favorite one. I'm going to really try for 180 in September and possibly December also. I still haven't talked myself into law school, but if I can get a 180 then I might not be able to resist.

I see someone a couple posts above this saying that the secret to reading comp is to read as fast as possible. I don't think that's the case at all. When I read something in real life I cruise along at somewhere around 400-500 wpm, but on a reading comp passage I try to imagine either Obama, Bill Clinton, or JFK speaking the words in my head. This slows me down enough to get a much better understanding of what I'm reading. If you're on the other end of the political spectrum maybe try reading it in Reagan's voice or anyone else who has a distinctive oratory style that's easy for you to imagine. It doesn't work for me to read it in my own voice because I trained myself out of that years ago in order to read faster. In the case of reading comp, I think that taking three minutes to read and digest a passage is way better than taking a minute and a half to fly through it with poor comprehension.

Hey and welcome! :D Just to clarify - I was being the sarcastic about RC in the earlier post. Definitely would advise against reading as fast as possible.

No, I wasn't clear at all! Sorry about that. Congrats on the killer score last time - Hope you get that 180 in September. :D

Best of luck with the 180. I wouldn't get disheartened. Anything above a 176-177 or so has a slight hint of luck to it. You start to get penalized so heavily for a question that you could lose a point just from not reading a "the", a "only", etc.

Anywho... finished most of my macro that automatically writes my questions to a word document. About the only thing I could improve upon is finding a way to check whether the most recently typed question would break columns, and, if so, insert a column break before it so that it fits two or more questions per column when possible. If anyone knows that, hit me up...using a typetext method...it's kind of funny to watch it type really fast. If anyone decides to make a spreadsheet of questions they missed, feel free to use a variant of this to plug it to word... made some note next to where you need to modify it
