Willing to trade my RC section for another LG section. Hell, I'll even take your LR. I'll throw in some mints for game day.

Whats the hardest game in your guys opinion? I always see the Dinosaur game referenced. Is that from PT57? I found that one quite enjoyable. I love the LG section, wish I could feel the same about LR...

Re: JUNE 2013 Study Group / Study Partner Thread
Can't remember the PT off hand, but the game with Job Interviews with who's hired, who's interviewed, and who's out can be very time consuming and was tough for me the first time around. Normally you can make scenarios or work with rules like that but this one you just had to brute force it and keep track of what's going on.MKX wrote:Whats the hardest game in your guys opinion? Dinosaurs I think were tough because the set-up is so weird, people do in/out games, people do tiered ordering games, but I can't think of any other games with both. I expect them to do more of this, taking two game types and mixing them. Just did that LG section today, the difficulty here was time and realizing who could/had to be mauve.
Zones single-handily destroyed my first real LSAT (I think I lost 4 full points on that game). You have no idea how many profiling games I've done and redone this time around. I can destroy that game in about 6 minutes now.
Stained glass was tough for alot of people but i thought it was pretty straightforward. There's two basic skeletons and it's a matter of understanding the rules. I think that game gets the rap because of the test it was on which was relatively difficult as a whole.
There was one more that comes to mind, the one where you're scheduling the order of cities and you have the two reversible blocks (Los Angeles/Toronto and two other cities). That was time, but the rest of the section was straightforward.
Easiest game? The one with the 5 students traveling in Canada. 3 minutes at most.

Anyone else glad that the Red Wedding episode of Game of Thrones was last night and not the day before the test? Jesus, maybe that's why I fucked up LG. I'm signing up for PTSD therapy.

Final score: 167. Is it just me or was the RC in PT 63 incomprehensible? I had no idea wtf I was reading on passages 3 and 4. I still have no clue what the passages about the magnetic rocks was talking about.

Damn, there must be people out there who got -0 on LG for 68. How did they do it?
Even in the 7sage video, the guy was like it took him 15 minutes of brute forcing to do the game
.... I really really don't want something like that happening on game day.
How are people so confident in LG?

PT 67:
RC: -4
LR1: -2
LG: -0
LR2: -3
Raw: 91
Scaled: 171
Got booted from the library during the first section after the first passage. Proceeded to get three wrong on the passage after that when I switched, and felt fatigued around the end from doing two in a row. The first of those two reasons is concerning because it shows I'm not doing well with distractions. The fatigue issue I can live with, as I won't be doing 8 sections in a row on test day.

PT 61
Sec 1 RC: -8
Sec 2 LR: -3
Sec 3 LG: -4
Ex. PT 18, Sec. 3 (RC): -2
Sec 4 LR: -4
Raw: 82
Total: 165
...unless I count the Ex. RC instead of Sec 1, which means Raw 86, Total 169.
Not good, but I identified a couple of reasons I may be doing so poorly.
1) I'm either completely burnt out on RC right now, or I need to warm up before digging in. I saw very poor scores on RC on the past two tests. This time, my score on the second one was more than adequate. I will need to confirm this, but at the same time I probably shouldn't push it.
2) Due to my fierce focus on RC, I believe my endurance on LG has simply faltered, and that some heavily drilling tomorrow and Wednesday could cure that. I seem to fail exclusively on the final games at this point. Maybe marathon drilling could help me with this.
3) This test I went in with a clear head for each section. I rested when appropriate, taking my eyes off the page (clock still running) to let my head re-adjust. I think this shows at least with LG and the second RC section. Failing to do this on PT 60 really hurt me and I gave up on the final section halfway through.
4) Individual, difficult problems for LR should be drilled to some degree, but not extensively.
I'm questioning whether I should take one last test before Monday or if I should only drill to fix what I believe to be my weakest points right now. I only have about 3 more days of studying ahead of me (13 - hour work day on Friday, then resting on Saturday and Sunday), so I'm not sure if another diagnostic would be of any use.
However, I'm definitely more confident then I was yesterday.

How did you go -2 on LR...??? I went -8!! (-2, -6). And -4 on RC. We both got #20 on LG wrong.

Re: JUNE 2013 Study Group / Study Partner Thread
Can anyone help explain PT 65 RC question 1? I was tempted between (B) and (D)... ended up choosing (B) because I felt that captured the passage better... but I felt like (D) is very tempting since it hints at the authors viewpoint with the word "effectively". (B) doesn't really do that and seems too un-opinionated

Re: JUNE 2013 Study Group / Study Partner Thread
Today was my last unseen LSAT. Just going to redo 66-68 between now and next Monday but as for today...:
PT 65:
LR1: -0
LG: -0
RC: -2
LR2: -2
Raw: 97
Scaled: 179
It was a great way to end my unseen tests, second highest score ever for me. I thought that the last game was super tough but luckily I did it 2nd in the section. For me the RC on this test was brutal. I was surprised not to miss 4 or more in that section. I thought the second and final passages were just extremely difficult. The LR misses I attribute to fatigue more than anything else but that is no excuse.
I have heard hat you score withing two points of your average over your last 5 PT's before the real thing. That means that I will score between a 175 and a 179. I could live with that.

Yes it is helpful. And I barely remember what I had for lunch two days ago, let alone the answer or stimuli for a passage. I mean sometimes the information seems familiar, but that also happens everytime I see a generic LSAT question invoking traffic speed, vervet monkeys, a writer combining languages, literally anything about meteors, space or extinctions, or the enforcement/unjust treatment of legal theoryjas1503 wrote:Does redoing PTs help...I mean, you already know the answers, right?

Re: JUNE 2013 Study Group / Study Partner Thread
Even after getting MLSAT RC, and liking it, my RC average hasn't changed. I'll get the occasional -1 or -2, but I'm largely no better than -3 to -6. I feel more confident doing RC due to using the Manhattan methods and reading for structure, granted. Maybe I can get it down to 0 to -2 regularly with enough practice. But I'm inclined to think there is credence to the notion that RC is the toughest of sections to improve on. (I scored -6 on cold diagnostic). I probably should add that I studied for the GRE last July (a whole 5 weeks of prep!) and much of that prep was for the verbal section, which includes a lot of RC. So that prep could have something to do with a not-so-bad cold score.ManoftheHour wrote:LR: Manhattan. Then drill using Cambridge.jas1503 wrote:Help!
