Wish me luck. :( After shitting the bed on 74 games I don't feel so great.
just think about it like this: did you really expect EVERY PT to go great? it's just part of the process.

True, true.

When you guys BR, do you have music on or anything like that? Or is it just quiet.

I do it in quietness. Typically for school, I focus and study better with music, usually blasting at an unhealthy level in my ears, ha. But for the LSAT, I just can't have music on because I feel like it requires much more focus than does trying to cram a bunch of notes that I'll forget 2 days after a test anyways.

i have stopped taking higher PT score on a non-fresh test as a sign of progress. i was getting 170s on retake PTs but got high 160s on the last couple fresh tests i took.

there is so much of little things that can inflate score if one has seen a pt before that i think it'd be a mistake to count retake score as representative. e.g. just knowing that game3 was the hard one or the one that you missed points on the last time you took the test can make you plan pacing your LG section better and can inflate the score.

i am sorta in the same situation as you as far as fresh material.

so i have begun writing down full fledged analysis of some questions in LR and RC that give me trouble. when doing this write-up, i try to relate that question to other lsat questions of similar form or play around with variation of that question or answer choices so i can extract out a solid and general rule for tackling the issue.

Totally with you. Even if I don't remember the questions, just knowing that "this test doesn't have any hard games" or that "this is the test with the zephyr airlines game, rest of test is easy" helps to inflate your score. Hardest part for me about a fresh test is the unfamiliarity, and you obviously don't get that with a retake.
On a totally unrelated note, what's the best way to format your resume to get the most onto one page? I has a sucky format for my college resume and so I have to redo the entire thing for admissions.

For mine, I reduced the margins. I don't know if that's the smartest move though.

1st time retaker checking back in!
Bombed Sept last year (~8 marks lower than my PT average) and decided to sit out a cycle as uni and other work prevented me from being able to revise properly.

How's everyone doing?

Q for those doing the 7Sage Memory Method:
is the 3.5 minutes to read the passage supposed to include the writing of summaries of each paragraph, creating the narrative, and writing the main point of the passage?

I believe that time is only for reading the passage. I think the time you do the other stuff in is like a separate 1.5 mins or something like that

Keep as little white space as possible. Put the font size down to like 7.5 (TNR) and use that when starting a new line. It can be a bit of a bitch to get it right, so play around with it a little bit.

Please do not do this. Minimum font size should be 11 whether your resume is for admissions or for looking for a job. People have to be able to read your resume to admit/hire you.

To be honest, it seems like you may be writing more than necessary.

My paragraph summaries were 2 - 5 words.

I never wrote the main point anywhere, just formulated one in my head based on the little summaries.

^^ I wrote the short sentence down at the beginning tbh, but after like my 12th passage or something like that, I just did it in my head, which I did this for another like 12 passages or so.

Yeah, I'm starting the method so trying to figure out what works / what I'm supposed to do. I think if I actually physically write paragraph summaries during a timed section or something (I'm not sure whether that's the idea or not) they'd have to be around that length, since I'm a slow writer..

That's good to know, Mikey! Lol my timing is all over the place rn.

Definitely noticing improvements with this method in terms of comprehension of what I'm reading. I think it should be a great strategy once I get it down.

Anyone have a link/summary for the exact breakdown of how to BR? I've always attempted, but never really understood if i was doing it right. From what i understand its just basically going back and doing redoing the questions you were unsure of without a time limit and seeing where you went wrong ? Thanks buddies!

I thiiink the ideal BR is going over the entire test without a time limit, using a fresh version so you don't know what your answers were last time? Not sure if that's what's usually done in practice though.

I've heard different things about going over 1 page. Ann Ivey says not to, while others (I think Spivey) say it's okay as long as you have reason to. Probably gonna keep mine to one page.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
