PT40 review room is up. I know it's early, but I'm bored and figured if anyone else wants to come in and chill for awhile it would be okay.

Tflem and I just did some review of the test, but I'll probably be hanging in the chat room until 6pm if anyone else wants to come in and go over some stuff.

Sorry I missed the review as well. I didn't get the chance to take PT40 until last night. I'll be sure to join the next one, though!

So far did chapter 7 of mlr and did the lg for pt 34. Went -0 on the pt but forgot my drilling materials at home so I'll have to do that tomorrow and will just do chapter 8 of mlr.

Re: October 2012 Retakers
took preptest 40 today because it seemed like it was the cool thing to do.
LR -1
LG -4
LR -7
RC - 9
for a 162.
Felt great after I graded the first section as it's my best score on a LR section. I was still feeling alright after LG because I was perfect aside from the Zephyr game.
Haven't had a chance to reivew the last 2 sections. In RC I had to guess the last 6 because I was feeling really distracted, I was taking the test at the library and it was unbelievable how many cell phones were going off and people being awful in general. But I guess it's good practice for the real thing.

Re: October 2012 Retakers
Did about 50 inference questions today, missed 7.
I also took a three hour nap today after work.
Hence why I only got through 50 questions and not the full packet of 100...
Tomorrow I will redeem myself, finish up PT 40, and take no naps!

Frustrating day of prep. I was very unfocused and uncertain as to why. Hoping tomorrow will be better.

Yeah yesterday got back from the gym and instead of studying right away, I wasted 3 hours. At that point it was too late to start studying. Today is a new day. Gotta make up for the lost time. I treated myself to a great lunch just to have enough energy to prep.

No work today. Slept in, fed my face and now ready to regain some confidence with some good prep today. Here goes nothing!

question: when you guys are drilling certain question types, how are you going about arranging them so you can do them all at once? i have the books of 10 preptests you buy in the store and don't see how you go about this without ruining the tests.

Re: October 2012 Retakers
To be honest, people (myself included) have the cambridge bundles, which bundles all of the questions, OR some other type of mastery book that compiles all of the questions by question type.bananashotgun wrote:question: when you guys are drilling certain question types, how are you going about arranging them so you can do them all at once? i have the books of 10 preptests you buy in the store and don't see how you go about this without ruining the tests.
The only other way to do it is to refer to the master list and find each question, individually. I would invest in the bundles if I were you. It saves a TON of time, and allows you to see patterns more easily.

Re: October 2012 Retakers
Took my first PT since UG classes started back, 170 on PT46. I know it was just a one question difference from my previous two 169s but for some reason it felt so good to get into the 70s for the first time. RC has started to really improve, -3 today, LG was -1 today which is what I did in June so finally getting back to where I was. Have to keep drilling LR, seem to have plateaued at -5 to -8. Any tips on Flaw LR questions?

Put up a 166 today after four prior 170s (170,171,174,174) I felt like crying. I went -10 on the first LR section and then did fine on the rest of the test. I'm attributing this errant section to post work beer cravings and will be reworking the entire section tomorrow.

I went from like, a 178 to a 169 once. Forget it specifically, but drops like this are within normal variance expectancy, imo.bigdogmoe wrote:Put up a 166 today after four prior 170s (170,171,174,174) I felt like crying. Re: October 2012 Retakers
Question about the Cambridge stuff.
Would it be conceivable for me to order one of the LRs and one of the LGs, and complete them by early September? I've taken a few PTs during my prep, and my score has been improving, but I'd like to have everything assembled one spot so I can just blaze through some stuff.
I'd purchase the books that cover PTs 21 - 40. Once finished with the books, I'd start PTing every few days in September with PTs after 40.

There's always one fluke score in there somewhere. Don't sweat it too much unless it starts happening consistently.bigdogmoe wrote:Put up a 166 today after four prior 170s (170,171,174,174) I felt like crying. Also if you didn't do warmup that could explain the bad first section but like the others said off days happen.bigdogmoe wrote:Put up a 166 today after four prior 170s (170,171,174,174) I felt like crying.
