Do you think this was because you took a month off, were doing retakes, or did you change your approach? Probably the drinking, right?
PeanutsNJam wrote:Sfogs I think the takeaway here is if you want upper 170s you should probably drill shaq.

Def. worked for GT. But I PW'd on his behalf and he PQ'd. I think that's the key - people should PW people other than themselves.

I could only PT on weekends, so to cover the material, I did all PTs as 8 section back-to-back tests on consecutive days (Sat/Sun). So four tests every weekend. I reviewed and drilled during the week.

For my last 18 PTs (all retakes), my average was 177.3. So I scored my average. It didn't matter that I had seen the tests before.
How did you review your PTs? Did you BR or just go over wrong answers? Reviewing 4 tests seems like it would take forever, but I guess if you were only missing a few questions each test it wouldn't take as long.

Yeah once I was scoring consistently in the upper 170s, I stopped doing BR. It just wasn't worth the time, which was better spent drilling and doing fresh sections.

Keep in mind that these were all retakes, so I did BR all of them the first time around.

Also what do you think was the most productive, since I only have thirty some-odd days for this? I feel like my nerves are the culprit so probably PTing a million times might help.

GOD GT STUDYING IS JUST SO BORING.
Yeah, obviously it sucks. But think about what that score will mean! I don't regret any second I spent on LSAT prep.

I wasn't in the high 170s before September. My average was a little over 171. After the waiting period (when I did exactly nothing except drink beer and eat pizza), my scores shot up to the 178-180 range pretty consistently. I only had a few 173s sprinkled in towards the end of November, when I was beginning to feel a little burnt out.
Yeah, like what is up with that? I was toward the lower end of 170 with effort pre-September, then nothing until November, take an PT and easy mid 170s. Same deal yesterday. I wasn't paying any attention to what I was doing!! Literally couldn't tell you what any of the RC passages were about or scenarios for LG or nothing.

If I had known all I had to do was sit around for a fucking month to get my scores to increase by five points, I would have done it.

And true, you don't regret it. I wouldn't regret it either. *SIGH* Okay, full steam ahead. Sfogs going for 180 now.

So, I would like this to be my new LSAT study backpack.

Totally acceptable, right?

Emphasis on would like. I'm poor.
