Yeah June isDecember was probably the lamest thread ever, so here I am.

I'm just anxiously waiting to hear back from schools, second-guessing every little tid-bit on my applications. Mainly the fact that I didn't write Why X's for a bunch of them.

I'm so envious of anyone who understands RC. Really, I am. I just don't get it and I never will. I'm aiming for -0 in LR & LG so outweigh the -27 I'm going to get in RC.

Like what's up? What do you find difficult? I'm sure you've mentioned earlier but I have no desire to sift through the hundred some-odd pages of this thread.

Just everything. I just don't get it. Like at first games were difficult because I couldn't mentally keep track of how all the inferences worked together and I couldn't finish in time, but now I'm over that. LR was difficult at first because I usually had too many really hard questions that I didn't understand that totally ruined my time (weaken, assumption, flaw), and I wasn't mentally recording the argument in my head when I would go through the stimulus, thus causing me to go back, but I'm over the latter and the I'm doing a lot better with the former, but RC is just impossible to me. Like I finish in time, that's not necessarily the problem. But I have trouble with either a) sometimes I just don't understand passages, whether it's fatigue or because the passage is particularly difficult, but when these passages happen I just can't do it and get so many questions wrong just from one passage. Or b) sometimes I choose an answer I think is right and it just turns out to be wrong (usually with point of view) which I am getting better at identifying, but it's just hard and i hate it. But I'm 3/4 way through PT 52 now and my last section is RC. I'll check back in before BR in like 35 minutes.

Any skill, such as LR, LG, RC, and fapping, is best honed through consistent perfect practice. LG has tricks (diagramming) and LR has tricks (rules), but RC has no tricks. It's all about practice. Read similar stuff, like philosophy papers or reputable journal articles. TLS wisdom is The Economist, and for me, that worked quite well. Get used to reading dense material. Take it slow at first, read for thorough comprehension. Ask yourself questions. ETA - About the passage. Quiz yourself.

Find a tough RC passage, and become familiar with it. Spend some time on google. Now talk to your friends about what you learned from that passage. One cool thing about RC is it's not made up shit, at most it's outdated. You can learn things from RC.

LG and LR are short-term relationships, they don't take much work. But you have to carefully woo RC. Take her out to dinner, buy her flowers. Take your time.
