Not to derail the shenanigans, but I thought I'd post my "progress" on here to keep myself accountable:

I started in on the Trainer this week and have knocked out two chapters/lessons each day (excepting yesterday, when I was down with a stomach bug). I feel like I'm understanding the concepts thus far and feel good about the pacing. I'll most likely do three lessons tomorrow and three on Saturday to "catch up."

Now back to your regularly scheduled programming...

Gamerish! You've been missed. What is it specifically about LGs that is throwing you off? How are you drilling them?

Do you take long to draw the initial diagram, or is it individual Qs that stump you (or both)?

Interesting. If it's individual questions, then that would indicate that you're not drawing the inferences necessary in the initial diagram. Now, I know you've said that you're drawing it up the same way as JY etc., but the questions should be 'easier' after you've teased out the inferences from the initial diagram. If you're banging out a main diagram quickly, maybe take 30 seconds after completing it to just look and 'reflect' on it. Maybe even make a mental checklist of what you should look at once you complete the main diagram.

e.g.
1 - are there any other inferences to make here?
2 - what is the primary rule/inference that they're likely to test me on?
3 - is it worth drawing up multiple gameboards?

Then once you've done that, move on. On the games that I do fastest, I tend to spend over half my time on the initial setup and run through something like the aforementioned checklist.

(apologies if this is all redundant. I think you've probably seen all this before.)

Hey GYG! Welcome back. Sorry to hear LG's still kicking your ass. Right before Feb I actually asked Trainer Mike about improving LG timing and he gave me some tips that helped a lot- maybe take a look at his post?

gamerish wrote:Thanks, guys. All of that stuff is definitely very helpful, I just feel like I do it all already. I guess that's the problem. Seems like I need to spend even more time reviewing games I've already done and trying to be more introspective about the whole process.
Ey! Welcome back!
Have you been doing any LG sections at all besides just game drilling? You know these are taking longer than they should and that but have you sat down and tried to get a regular LG section done in the 35min to see how your varying times on games fit with an actual section? and if so what kinda time/score you end with? (hoping you say no so you can give it a shot and have it turn out you can fit them all in and get -0/1)

This may be more of a venting post, but when you all become lawyers, be GREAT lawyers! Don't be Greedy. I am in the worst legal battle. (so far 1.5 years deep). It looks like I just paid my lawyer a TON to end up with a decision I could have made at the very beginning. Stay True to yourselves future lawyers! :)

Don't I know it. I'm in the middle of an ugly divorce/custody/child support/visitation battle and I was basically robbed by my ex, so I can't afford a retainer. I make too much for any pro bono help, or even reduced fees. He has an attorney. I go to court March 24, and I simply have to do this on my own and hope I don't lose my ass in there. Sorry you learned such an expensive lesson. :(

Ditto on the divorce battle. He is fighting me for a lot of money he put into a house that I owned before marriage. Who knew a person could be reimbursed for living expenses!! (Lawn Care, Water Bills, Etc) LOL!! I will be thinking of you on the 24th. Have you thought of getting a loan or line of credit for the retainer? Or are you under a TRO now? I'm so sorry that you do not have a lawyer. I really wish I could help.
