Re: The Official December 2014 Study Group
I'm not gonna cancel, (canceling would grant me a free test though) but I feel like reading everyone's horror stories of feeling fine and actually doing 6-10 points lower really scares me. Bc the fact that I complained means I already felt bad ab my possibility of a good outcome. The only good thing that will come out of the complaint honestly, is if they agree to add a letter to my acct saying there were test center irregularities.Dirigo wrote: Why the f would you cancel?
You shouldn't have complained about your testing center. This should serve as a warning to others would may want to do this.
eta: I'm afraid my score will be lower than the first take.

tbh, I had no clue ab drilling until the past 2 weeks, I did the stuff in the LR Bible, but knew NOTHING ab Cambridge packets or anything.peppermint wrote:Def drill. I used to be realllly bad at LG, like -9 to -14 & it was depressing. I started drilling hardcore & now I'm -2 on a bad day.justabitunusual wrote:
I didn't drill at all before. I guess I need to get some cambridge stuff to do that most effectively. I Just read the material, and took a test or in like 2 cases a partial test.
Rhymes With Wolf wrote:PTs really just serve two purposes: providing a snapshot of your current weaknesses, so that you can address them before the next PT, and simulating the test day experience.Dirigo wrote:It's all about striking a balance and catering to your individual needs. In some respects, drilling is more important than overloading your schedule with PTs.
peppermint wrote:I waste my morning hours too. I get up early and do yoga and meditation, so I can be all zen for the rest of the day, but then by the time I come home from work, I'm usually too exhausted to study. I need to hurry through my morning exercise so I can fit some quality studying in.Webpolice wrote:OMG.....Now I feel super shameful for wasting my precious morning time
I think yoga and meditation are a great benefit...maybe you should try doing a small cycle 5-10 mins when you get home from work...I think the time spent getting your mind at rest, will improve the rest of your time.

Re: The Official December 2014 Study Group
I'm really bad at guessing, and I'm unsure, but if I had to guess one way I would say worse. With that said, even if they do nothing ab the complaint, I will still prob keep my score. Otherwise, I will lose valuable info on how I did in the sections I was not affected by the problem, etc. I will need that test to study properly for the next test.Dirigo wrote: It depends on how good you are at predicting your scores. I wouldn't have been surprised if I 160'd today and ended up with a 171. Unless I know I bombed LG, then I really have no idea how I scored on the rest of it until I grade.
If you are pretty sure you did worse, then get that free test. If you're not sure, I say don't cancel and see what you get. Even though there were a lot of disappointed takers, there were also a good number or pleasantly surprised takers.
I guess worse comes to worse, I keep my score it is way worse than first take, and I have to pay to retake and put in crazy study hours, but maybe I can just add an addendum if I blow it out the park in dec.
And that always leaves room for the best case scenario which is that I am pleasantly surprised...too bad I'm too much of a realist

Ok, sorry for taking up so much of the thread for personal problems here!!! But, thanks for talking it out w me!!!

Yeah, I can see that being true! You literally feel like a new person after a good session. I did a 5 minute session before i took the test in June, and felt much more calm than I did in September when I was rushing to get to the test center and didn't have time for it.peppermint wrote:Yep, meditation's awesome. I do a 5 min one sometimes when I'm super stressed, but I really should be doing it everyday before drilling. That would def clear my head. Btw: another random science fact - meditation has also been shown in neuroimaging studies to change the structure of the brainjustabitunusual wrote:I think yoga and meditation are a great benefit...maybe you should try doing a small cycle 5-10 mins when you get home from work...I think the time spent getting your mind at rest, will improve the rest of your time.

Yup. I'm gonna relax for about 2 hours and then sleep. I workout everyday in the morning so I can't stay up too late.justabitunusual wrote:Nice, you still have the world at your fingertips...you can (likely) stay up for 2 more hours before feeling like you will die....on the other hand....It's half past midnight herenlee10 wrote:California!justabitunusual wrote:
