Lived in Canada and the US. Your friend's in Montreal, which is entirely different from the rest of Canada. McGill is right downtown, so everything is close by, and it's an incredibly relaxed city atmosphere. It's a student city (I think first or second students per capita in N. America), and student life is pretty vibrant socially. It's a young city, too, because it's the cheapest in Canada for university, and the economy's awful, so everyone moves to Montreal for the subsidized schooling then moves out of province (or country) to get real jobs.BillPackets wrote:grey as ive said b4 i have a friend who is starting an MLS program at mcgill. she texted me the other day and said that canada is so much better than the US that she never wants to go back to the US. idk y any1 would say this sort of thing. tbh i think she is going to either 1) marry a canadian for citizenship purposes, or 2) renounce her American citizenship to become canadian.smccgrey wrote: No, but not apologizing profusely for leaving probably would be.
ive never been to canada so obvs i cant speak to the quality of life in either country, but can you? im assumig youve spent time in the US. is canada like >>>>>>>>>>>>>> US?
I much prefer the US on the whole, though. Particularly for working, but there's just more happening in general.

Congratulations to you! I'm recently returned to Montreal. And very few of my friends from 3-4 years ago are still here now.smccgrey wrote:Also this is totally accurate. Although I managed to find a real job here in MTL, none of my friends did (not sure if any of them even tried.)msp8 wrote: Lived in Canada and the US. I'll be applying. I'd like to study in the US. That said, McGill @ $4k or whatever it amounts to is an intriguing backup plan.BillPackets wrote:msp8 r u also gunnin for an american law school?msp8 wrote:Congratulations to you! Doing exceedingly well on the LSAT will overcome any GPA issues for you if you were intent on going to McGill, no?smccgrey wrote:Its so cheap.
