Re: The Official December 2015 Study Group
Thanks. I study everyday, but lazily and I'm also taking a lot of classes atm..Mint-Berry_Crunch wrote:AfrocentricAsian wrote:comments or...AfrocentricAsian wrote:Retook the October test and ran into some of the same problems I had on test day...Did anyone find the first LR section harder than usual? I got a 163 on it and on the actual test I got a 15x. What do I do if I'm missing some of the same questions that I missed on test day? It's really crazy how exact it is and I'm realizing I was set up for failure by taking that hard ass LR section first.
Really considering withdrawing. If I don't apply this cycle I'm going to have to waste a year of my life in limbo, but this will also be my second take and I can't mess it up. I wanted to PT in the 170s before taking again but I've been usually scoring between 163-167 on my PT's. I'll be happy with a score between that range. Before the October test, I was scoring around the 160-162 range but my score actual score dropped to the 150s.
So, this is hard. It's really up to you and what you want, where you want to go, and if you need scholly. IIRC, you have a decent GPA right and are URM right? With those, a 165+ can get you some things.
But you're right, the second take is indeed risky. The eve before the December test last year I withdrew. Leading up to it I was a ball of anxiety and sadness. I was testing 158-163, and knew I had no shot at anything better. The second I withdrew I knew immediately I made the right decision. Approaching February, I was in your score band and ultimately decided to withdraw again. Once again, I knew I made the right choice.
An extra year is not the end of the world. You have a couple things for your application which could be huge. You might hit 165 now, and get into the school you want. A higher LSAT could get you where you want, but for pennies. That extra year gives you a great chance to work, save, travel, pursue other interests and develop yourself as a person. I would ask yourself how much do you study now? How well do you study now? An extra year gives you the chance to change your study techniques, and you might see some significant improvement from that.
Just some stuff to think about.

I've pretty much come to terms with the fact that there's a good chance I won't get the score I want this weekend.

What's everyone's ideal test order?
I think I'd prefer LG-LR-RC-LG-LR

Spending the next week drilling my two biggest banes: science passages and grouping games. THESE WILL NOT RUIN MY SCORES AGAIN.
