Just started drilling strengthen and weaken questions (all difficulty levels) and have been doing terribly. Went 53/65 + this was untimed.
Anyone have any advice for these question types? How to approach the problems, answer choices, etc. Would be extremely helpful. TIA

Sorry I can't advise...i never drilled LR (just used an app on my phone from time to time and did the Manhattan book, and LR Bible...no drilling though, bc I'd prob kill myself (jk, but if i had had more time i would have and just the fact that you're doing the drilling will in itself become helpful as time goes on and you become more and more familiar w the material) i would think. They do have explanations on certain websites though so maybe go look at those for the ones you are really struggling with.

Also make sure you Blind review (idk if this is a thing w LR drilling, but i think i would have had to do this)

You need to be very strong in identifying the conclusion and premise(s). Without knowing 100% the argument, you're going to be tricked by answer choices.

Also, four answers are 100% wrong and only one answer choice is 100% right. I know that seems obvious, but oftentimes we take it for granted and assume there is grey area and wiggle room. Look at the answer choices very carefully. There is never a situation where two answer choices are good and they're asking you to pick the better of the two.
4 AC's are dead wrong.

Going off of that, I tackle the AC's by eliminating wrong answers. I always utilize a process of elimination. Don't necessary look for the correct answer; instead look for the incorrect answers.
Weaken AC's cast doubt on the conclusion and strengthen AC's eliminate some of the doubt.

Sorry my advice is general question strategy, but if you force your brain to be very efficient and in tune with the task at hand, you should get better and better with practice.

I'd just really focus on the ones you got wrong. Figure out why the correct answer was better than the one you picked, and then see if there are any patterns in your misses. Drilling *more* isn't as effective as really honing in on the ones you missed before you proceed.
Totally agreed, review is key. Gonna right out full explanations for those questions I got wrong. Did this for NA questions and now I get around 95% of them correct. Those problems were assigned as HW in a prep course I am currently taking and I needed to finish them before my next class. Maybe I shouldn't have proceeded without reviewing the ones I got wrong. Thanks for the help.

Thanks Rigo. One thing I've noticed though is that I often make an additional assumption to justify an answer choice. I continue to do this and sometimes two answer choices will look very attractive. Have to learn not to make these leaps.

Identifying that is huge! Slow down until NOT doing that is natural. Focus on what is said in the stem and not what is unsaid :). But, now that you see where you tend to go off track, it is SO much easier to correct it.
Thanks, appreciate it!

Just looked at myself topless for the first time since I began studying for the LSAT.

I'm never taking off my clothes again.
