Can we know a little bit more about your friends situation? Like career ambitions, schools applying to, LSAT/GPA, etc?

Haha, I spent 4 years in Irvine as a teenager.. couldn't wait to get the F out!

ETA = BTW if you're not putting a size limit on it, I could name probably 50 cities in CA that are better than LA and Irvine. Newport, Laguna, San Clemente, Carlsbad, Fullerton, Encinitas, La Jolla.

Although, the San Fernando Valley is so beautiful this time of year.
haha. Not gonna lie. I'm a hardcore suburb guy and despise city living. Currently chilling in Fullerton. 8)
Grew up in the suburbs and being able to actually drive up to the place where I'm going (i.e restaurant, shopping center, etc)
I actually just moved from Fullerton, which is definitely an awesome city. I lived 2 blocks from Commonwealth and Harbor Bl

Bad RC days happen - usually best to just shrug it off and move on.
You and I stray, we will become friends through doing poorly RC today

Wondering if it's worth it to go for Feb (PTs consistently @ 175) if only to get off wait list. And yes, applying to T14 and locals with realization T14 is out of reach.

Finally, sitting out a cycle is out of the question

Retake is a good idea if you're ok with the quick turnaround, but I don't think you'd be shut out of the T14 with those numbers anyway.

I would def retake in February for waitlist movement and scholarship negotiations. You have nothing to lose by retaking.
Definite co-sign on the retake. Absolutely no reason not to.

Actually brand new to the area so didn't go to school around here, lol. Got some buddies and family around here so OC living has been treating me well.

BTW. Is there some sort of thing with USC and OC? I see a lot of USC clothes around here all the time. That and UCI (of course).

USC is the spoiled rich kids' school with a lot of school pride. That's why.
Yeah, the further South in OC you go the more fiscally conservative it is politically speaking (think Newport, Laguna, most of Irvine, Coto de Caza, etc..) which lines up ideologically with USC; a lot of USC alums end up in south OC, and they send their kids to USC. I had a lot of spoiled rich kid friends that went there; most of them had parents that were CEO/CFO/COO types

Yes I'm planning to apply this cycle. I took a fifth year at my university to complete a second major instead of taking a year off. In retrospect, I wish I did take the year off and dedicate all of my time to LSAT prep. The February score is going to be extremely helpful since my previous two aren't even close to the numbers that I was PTing. This time is different since I won't be juggling the LSAT, 15 credits of 300-level classes, and an honors thesis at the same time :|

No reason to be hurt. You asked the question and I answered.
Fairly affluent area ---> Fairly affluent families ---> Can afford USC ----> Wears USC shirts.
Haha yeah, that sounded objective to me, there could be worse things.

Plus USC is in such a beautiful neighborhood so it has that going for it.

I don't need help with LG, and I know watching videos for LR or RC seems weird but at this point I'll try anything to get me over this damn hump!! And yeah, I have not looked at schools enough yet to really think about where I wanna go but USC is my second choice so far. But take that with a grain of salt.
just took a quick look. The free video explanation is buns to be honest. 75% of the process in doing an LR question and reviewing LR questions is eliminating wrong answer choices and being able to know why they are wrong. This is something not done in the videos.

edit: To clarify, I'm not saying they are completely useless. It def serves a purpose in that it explains why the correct AC is correct. But it is far from complete.
