you'd get that anywhere in the South - west or east.
also most of the country is nowhere near as damn cold as where I think you are, even NYC and the like will have mild winters in comparison.
That's true, and I have looked at just south in general, but those markets (Miami, Austin etc.) want to see ties.
I wonder how LA and Atlanta compare for insulated-ness.
I was under the impression that Atlanta wanted ties, but LA didn't care as much as the market is pretty big.
I wonder if as an international ties matter less. Less perceived chance of just leaving for another city to live with family? I don't know.
I hope Duke is enough ties for Charlotte and/or Atlanta. Otherwise I'll probably end up trying to get Chicago anyways even though I absolutely hate the weather.

Duke places very well anywhere in North Carolina. It also has a gorgeous campus and benefits from Durham's absurdly good music scene. A+ would recommend. They're on my short list, but NYU is my top pick as I'm most interested in public interest law.

How do you recommend studying when you are already scoring in the 170+ on your PTs?
I am planning to take two PTs a week, one on Thursday and one on Sunday.
The days in between I am going to review the PT and drill RC and Flaw LR questions.
What are your plans?

I know people on this thread offer to look over each other's personal statements, but is there a section for reviewing others essays for actual school or something similar?

keep drilling to cement a strong basis and don't not cover anything. being if you are good at LG don't just jump ship and do RC LR for the next 4 months. Heavy PT in 2 months

Well I'm shooting for transactional big law work that pays somewhere near market, and there's only a small handful of firms in NC that fit the bill for that. I would also recommend Duke, as that's where I'm already committed to for the fall

I'd say Duke is definitely my number 2 (partially because it's unrealistic as a number 1 due to my shit-tier gpa), but the location and quality of life are so much more desirable than anywhere else in the t20. I bet their stats are so high (partially) because the large number of students who could have taken CCN choose to go there to relax for 3 years before flushing their lives away after graduation haha

Just curious why you predict a WL at Chicago and an acceptance at Penn? Most LSN profiles I've seen that get Columbia and NYU (usually requiring 170+ LSAT) either get Chicago and Penn, Chicago acceptance and Penn WL, or both WL.
Chicago obviously prefers a stronger GPA:LSAT ratio than Columbia and NYU, but Penn seems to be the same (with the added issue of YP, of which they seem to be the worst offender)

You said it perfectly with chi loving the GPA. Mine isn't great but virtually everything else is (barring lsat and I don't mean to sound arrogant) a Penn acceptance is more likely than chi but less likely than Columbia. plus lsn pegs me better at Penn by a large margin.
Still I'm going to be dinged at HYS.
