I did for my first take, and it was a bad idea for me. I would have been much been much better off doing two or three full length PTs and then drilling on my weaknesses.

That's not really feasible for me since I work full-time. At this point, I have the most room for improvement on RC so I'm thinking I'll focus on that (including blind review - did not do this prior to Dec.) and not waste my time on the other sections, aside from what I get out of 2-3 full PTs.

peppermint wrote:Yeah, exercise is very important! I talked about the science behind it in the Dec thread (it literally changes the structure of the brain). Everyone ITT should make a pact to start exercising. Who's in?
I'm in. I basically haven't exercised since July hah. I miss it so much but have been too lazy to start again. I signed up for a half marathon when I was studying for the Sept test and ended up not training for it at all. So I ended up just waking up the morning of the race and running it. Cardio just doesn't really do it for me anymore.
Nlee teach the ways of lifting? I have experience lifting, but its been more of longer sets of lighter weights. Also my legs are really strong but I have kinda wimpy arms in comparison haha.

Okay, I'll probably have to spend much less time on TLS and drill/PT all the time but then I can hang out in the waiters thread

Yay, it makes me really happy to see y'all so interested in yoga! It's great for the body & the mind so it's the best of both worlds.

For newbies, I would start off with this:
http://www.oprah.com/health/Dr-Ozs-Begi ... oga-Lesson
It's an excellent primer to yoga & isn't complicated at all.

Once you're able to do some basic yoga poses, start doing actual yoga sessions. Lululemon has some great free online yoga classes. I personally like the 2nd detox flow yoga video on this page: http://www.lululemon.com/giftofyoga

I do yoga and meditation first thing in the morning when I wake up, and then sometimes some yoga stretches in between PT breaks (yeah, I'll prob be the weirdo doing stretches at the testing center in Feb). For a change of pace, you guys should also check out yoga classes in your town. Where I live, we have some pretty fun ones like black light yoga (which I absolutely love!) & aerial yoga.

Do you happen to know anything about hot yoga? I really like to start doing it at home but I don't want to mess up and end up passing out. Thank you for the info you posted its awesome!

Wasn't directed at me, but I love yoga and yes I think half an hour is enough

Those still feeling queasy from reading the waiters thread should play around with LSN for the current cycle. I found it pretty refreshing

How do you guys match cambridge packet to Manhattan LR and PS LG chapters?

For example, in MLR, i am on argument core chapter (~pg 65), so i should be doing main conclusion packet?

argument core relates to MANY of the types of question on the test; its the foundation of much of the LR section. Flaws, Main Point, Necessary/Sufficient Assumption, Strengthen, Weaken; in all of these you are supposed to find the argument. Contrast this with inference question - Must Be True/Most Strongly Supported, or Resolve the Discrepancy - which are two of the few question types where you will not necessarily need to find the argument core. If im not mistaken, there is a Main Point section in that book - do MP's when you get there. For now I think just keep reading until you get to something more specific.

Haha, j/k. The best thing about yoga is that the more you do it, the more flexible you get. I was extremely inflexible too (couldn't even touch my toes, ugh) till I started doing it regularly & now I can even do aerial yoga, which is a crazy version of it.
I did martial arts for like 9 years and we stretched every single day, even then I could barely touch my toes.

The eternal struggle continues.

I do have super flexible shoulders. But my legs are about as flexible as concrete.
You should squat.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
