Took PT61 today 5 section:

RC: -7
LR1: -2
LG: -1
LR2: -2

170

Still having issues about timing on RC, not really sure what went wrong on the forgery passage. And lol @ me thinking I can ever get through a pt without making at
Least one dumb LG mistake that stems from misreading the question

Edit: the experimental LR section had those old stims w 2 questions so it was pretty obvious it was experimental.

Great score though, those are some seriously strong LR and LG numbers. Someone on this forum suggested I skip one time consuming question per passage on RC when I was having time issues, I never tried it because I got down into the -5 range so the math didn't add up, but if you're missing 7 due to timing maybe it would help.

Yep. one of the most time consuming games I've confronted. Took me 11 minutes and I got one wrong.

If new Jazz is on sale, then all Pop and no Rap is on sale but some used Rock is on sale only if it has been played less than 7 times and contains more than one track by ACDC but not Hell's Bells.

Well only 3/4 were due to timing, 3 was just a passage that I just messed all up. But I'll look into that or some version of that idea thanks

I've done that one twice, about the same time to finish it, a little quicker the second time, and both time I missed the third question bc I missed the word new in the question

Edit: lol fry that's exactly how I feel

Hey all,

Just a quick question, how do you read a LR question? I decided to get the LR bible - never used it before, and I know a lot of people swear by it - and it says to read it top-to- bottom, but I've always read the question stem first, then the stimulus and then the answer choices.

You think it might be worth it to read top-down once? See how it goes?

Personally I used to and my timing improved substantially after switching

He's probably still mid bender.

Just did 65 and almost went maximum Beyonce, but then totally dropped the ball in the last section.

Exp RC (pt 32) -3
LR1 -0
LG -1 (had to guess on one, guessed wrong)
RC -2
LR2 -3 ...UGH 2 of these were "HEY, DUMBASS, PAY ATTENTION" mistakes.

177! Yay-ish

I'm still getting used to 5 section PTs, but it's not as bad as I thought in would be.

Now to go enjoy what's left of the long weekend!

NICE

Hmm, I've never had a problem with timing, I actually finish around the 28 minute mark - which is why going -3-5 is so frustrating, because it means im just not getting the material, instead of rushing through it and making stupid mistakes. I've had 1 section where I went perfect, and a couple where I've went -1/2, but usually its around 3 on one and 4/5 on the other.

FWIW I always go Stim--> Question Stem--> Answer choices I finish in time and sometimes have to skip a hard Parallel question to do so. Almost invariably go -5 combined with a -1, -4 or -2, -3 split. Working on getting faster at parallel questions this week.

I really think i'll try to do it this way on my next PT, since obviously whatever I'm doing isn't working.

It might. But I'm going to do it anyway. I feel really alert, and I have the PTs to spare. I honestly don't expect any improvement; it's just that I am really struggling now that I've added a 5th section, and I think it's due to fatigue. Hoping to increase my endurance.

Sure I'm going to regret this decision in a few more hours...

Why is RC apparently harder guys? Is reading for structure just as important as ever?

Im kinda freaked out since I'm already bad at RC and haven't hit the new tests yet.

Somehow forgot how to LG during PT60-- ran out of time, missread rules, total disaster. They weren't even particularly tricky, except for game 3. I just put the test away and I figure I'll finish (with a new attempt at the games) and review it tomorrow. At least LR went well in section 1.

Who run the world? :) Congrats!

I'm just drilling LR and RC poolside today after a 4 day stretch of PTs resulted in a very obvious doooownward trend. Some kids (best birth control ads in the world) are running around, but I remain focused. 8)
